The course-wise median package has been released. An improving trend was witnessed in the median package offered to BTech students over the past three years (2021 to 2023). Likewise, the M.Tech and MBA median package has also improved year-on-year. On the other hand, a fluctuating trend was observed in the MArch median package. The NIT Trichy placement package trends witnessed over the past three years for popular courses are presented below:

As per the placements statistics of previous years, the institute has witnessed a placement rate of 92.9% in the year 2022. Also, if looking at the placement records of the year 2021, the NIT Trichy average package for M.Tech was INR 7 LPA, which was the third the highest from other courses. In the last years, the top tech recruiters that visited during the campus placements were Google, Infosys, Facebook, Mircorsoft, Sony, etc.

The CSE branch recorded the highest placement rate during BTech placements 2024. Looking at the past three years' statistics, a fluctuating trend was recorded in the placement rate of almost all the BTech branches, except MME which recorded a declining trend. According to the NIT Trichy, annual report 2024, the overall placement rate stood at 85%. Over 1300 students have been placed so far. The MSc students were offered packages upto INR 27 LPA. Meanwhile, the NIRF reports have been out for 2023 on the offiicial website. So as per NIRF 2023 reports, the NIT Trichy placements recorded a median package of INR 15.76 LPA offered to its BTech graduates.

For admission in a BTech course at NITT, candidates shall have a valid score of JEE Main. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks further becomes eligible for participation in the JoSAA counselling round. If the seats are left vacant after this round, then those are filled through the CSAB counselling. Candidates who pass Class 12 in Science stream wtih PCM/ PBM subjects are eligible to apply for this course.

 To get admission to M.Tech at NIT Trichy, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria. Aspirants need to be graduated with minimum 60% aggregate with BE/BTech from a recognised University. Admission is conducted based a valid GATE score. The applicant further must submit the documents at the time of form filling and admission procedure as a proof of eligibility.

NIT Trichy offers two-year M.Tech programmes in 23 specialisations. The course is available in specialisations, including Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Power Electronics, Data Analytics, Environmental Engineering, VLSI Systems, etc. Admission to all these courses is entrance-based. NIT Trichy offers MBA course across seven specialisations. These are Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Production and Operations, Business Analytics, Information systems and IT Consulting and General Management. All the MBA courses are offered in full-time mode through DOMS NIT Trichy. The admission process for all MBA specialisations are same. Candidates willing for admission to MBA at NIT Trichy must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and qualify for CAT entrance exam.

The NIT Trichy counselling 2022 process has been concluded after the release of Round 3 on the official website of DASA. For the upcoming admission session 2025, candidates are required to fill an online application form on the online admission ptal of DASA. To apply for the DASA UG counselling process, candidates can follow the step mentioned below:

• The candidates eligible for DASA counselling have to register to be able to participate in the admission process. The DASA counselling registration process is given below:
• To register, the candidate needs to enter the JEE Main 2025 application number and Date of Birth. A web link will be mailed to complete the registration process on the email ID registered with JEE Main. The application number of JEE Mains will be your username.
• In the registration form, candidates have to fill in the required details. Applicants are required to upload the following:

1. the latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size < 100kB).
2. Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format (file size<100 kB). 

• Submit the completed DASA application form. The submitted online registration form should be downloaded and saved for their records. However, there is no need to send the hard copy of the form and documents to the DASA office.

SPA Delhi: As per the NIRF report 2023, the median package offered to B.Arch students was INR 6 LPA, respectively. About, 17 B. Plan 65 B.Arch and 145 PG (2-year) students were placed during SPA Delhi placements 2022. NIT Trichy: As per the NIRF report, the median package offered to B.Arch students is INR 6 LPA. NIT Calicut: The average package offered during NIT Calicut B.Arch placements 2022 was INR 7.08 LPA (as per unofficial sources). From the above data, it can be observed that all three institutes have somewhat similar placement scenarios.

The Cutoff trend for BTech courses at NIT Trichy shows a fluctuating trend in competition. For the OBC category students under the Home State quota, the last round closing rank for CSE admission was 1631 in 2025. For the same BTech specialisation, the cutoff rank was 7913 in 2024, while in 2023, it was 1778. 

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Trichy - National Institute of Technology other than General category are - 6680 for OBC, 15514 for SC, 205 for ST, 614 for EWS and 75 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.
