IIIT Bangalore and NIT Trichy both offer admission to the M.Tech course on the basis of a valid GATE score, followed by a GATE Counselling process. Talking about the 2023 last-round cutoff, the closing rank for M.Tech in CSE was 480 at IIIT Bangalore. For NIT Trichy, the last round closing score was 637 for the same course and specialisation. Analysing the last round cutoff data, IIIT Bangalore was more competitive for M.Tech in the CSE course than NIT Trichy.

 To get admission to MCA course at NIT Trichy, students must be graduated with minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in BSc/ BSc (Hons)/ BCA/ BIT with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subjects. Students who are graduated with BE/B Tech or equivalent from a recognised University can also apply for this course. However, a five percent of relaxation is give to candidates who belong from SC/ ST categories. These candidates are required to obtain minimum of 55% or 6.0 CGPA in their respective graduation. Yes, NIT Trichy releases the result on the basis of Home State quota. For admission to BTech, the JEE Main Round 1 cutoff 2025 has been released for different categories, including OBC under the HS quota. For the first round, the closing ranks ranged between 1620 and 8877 for the OBC category students belonging to the HS quota. For the OBC category students under the AI quota, the Round 1 cutoffs were between 376 and 7579. Upon reviewing the first-round cutoff ranks for both the quotas, we can see that the competition was comparatively less for the students belonging to the HS quota as compared to the AI quota students.

The mode NIT Trichy course admissions are online and offline. Admission to various courses is based on entrance exam scores and merit. Trichy NIT admission is primarily entrance-based. The selection for admission to various courses is based on national-level entrance exams, such as JEE Main,  GATE, etc. Final seat allocation is done through counselling sessions such as CCMT and CCMN. 

At the undergraduate level, the NIT Trichy offers four-year BTech and five-year B.Arch courses to students. At the postgraduate level, the NIT Trichy provides two-year MTech, NIT Trichy MBA ,  MCA, and various other courses to students. The university also provides 17 PhD courses to students.

To apply for the MCA programme at NIT Trichy, you need to first appear for the NIMCET (National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test) entrance exam. The exam is held annually and is the sole criteria for admission into the MCA programme offered by NIT Trichy. Once you qualify for the exam, you can apply for the MCA programme at NIT Trichy. The eligibility criteria for the MCA programme are a Bachelors degree in B.Sc. /B.Sc. (Hons. )/BCA/BIT/B. Voc. /BBA with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA. The last date to apply for NIMCET 2023 was April 10th.
