It is a good college for students who want to do research.

Placements: I am a student in this department when I was pursuing B.E in chemical engineering, and I had a great experience here. Placements of our batch were excellent as more than 65% of the students got placed, while others were not interested in jobs. I had an inclination towards research, so I had made up my mind right from the time I was pursuing my B.E to pursue even M.E in this department. Students who got placed through campus placements were offered with an average salary package of 3.5 LPA. Companies offer both industrial and designing jobs, so students choose according to their own interest.

Infrastructure: The department has a good infrastructure. The college focuses a lot on the maintenance of labs as this department is the best known for research in various fields like polymer sciences thermodynamics etc. Wi-Fi facility is available to students, and sports and games are also encouraged. Various sports camps are held on the university campus where students participate regularly. The university owns its own swimming pool as well as a shooting range. Apart from that, there are separate courts for tennis and badminton etc. The university has excellent coaches to train the students, and a gymnasium also available here.

Faculty: Faculty members are very nice and helpful, and there is a good student-teacher interaction in the class. They always motivate students to speak up and discuss in the class to make concepts more clear. They are highly qualified as well as experienced. Industrial exposure is provided during summer training. The course curriculum has enough things to fulfil the needs of the industry.

Other: Every student must aim to get into Panjab University because of its recognition in the world. Associating your name with such an institution brings value to your resume. The university provides everything that students need. Student groups who lead or win elections take special care of the students. Various recreational trips are organised regularly, where you can enjoy your college life most.
