I am highly satisfied with college as it helps us to grow academically, spiritually and socially.
Placements: About 80% of the students got placed. Though the quality of placements depends on your grades and all the special events in which you have been a part of. The placement cell present in our college is of great help. Mock interviews were conducted, and special opportunities are given to the students to realise their potential through various competitions which enhances our speaking, conducting and management skills. The highest salary offered is Rs. 80,000 per month and the lowest salary offered is at least Rs. 10,000 per month which we get through internships. Many students applied for an internship in foreign countries which was a fresh change in our college, and it brings a lot of opportunities and money earning options for students. We have been making battery-operated cars as our tasks which will be the future of our country very soon owing to decreasing fossil fuels and increasing pollution. Various companies have been visiting the campus as PU has a large number of battery-operated 'E rickshaws' which have been designed by our department. There is a lot of placement scope in our university if you are a hard worker.
Infrastructure: Permanent Wi-Fi service is provided to all the students for free via a personal password provided to them so that they can use the high-speed network on their phones and laptops whenever and wherever throughout the university. Classrooms are well-furnished though in some classrooms there are still wooden benches and classical chalk blackboards without air-conditioning or multimedia projector. There is a fairly good spacious library which allows issuing only 2 books at a time. Labs are furnished better than the classrooms and have air-conditioners and good quality of computers with a fast network. The food served in the canteen is of good quality with the availability of breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the college timings. There is a Nescafe booth near the canteen which provides instant tea, coffee and small snacks like Maggi, pasta and chocolates by which students feel fresh after a series of long lectures. Hostel rooms are quite spacious with a sharing facility and are present just near the college. Mess facility is also available, and it is completely safe as these are safe campus area. Hostels do not provide an air-conditioning facility, and lunch and breakfast availability time are limited. Parking facility is good enough. A gym is available 24 hours and washrooms are to be shared but are fairly neat and clean. There are washing and ironing service for clothes. Girls' hostel has a salon and a little tuck shop for their needs. But there is always delay in the availability of rooms and a lot of paperwork and hassle needs to be faced.
Faculty: Teachers are quite knowledgeable, qualified and extremely helpful. They are punctual and never refrain from helping the students in any work. They have a zeal to create something new with us, and they even take extra classes, batches from special projects, summer vacation extra work and mechanical creations. They teach via their laptops, books, in labs and even verbally in good spoken English. There are 3-4 teachers as an expert in each subject. Special teaching lectures on humanities have been added to the course which is taught and taken seriously. We have a special work lab where we wear lab coats and use tools to drill, hammer, burn, chisel to create and discover the robotics and mechanics. The course has made us highly knowledgeable, and we feel inspired to invent and create something for the mechanical industry.
Other: Every year, 2 large scale fests take place named Agaaz, which is PU fest and UIET fest which is an amazing change between the dull study hours. Famous stars, singers and bands enthral the crowd each year. We learn to manage, coordinate and lead various events and become socially active, inviting various colleges and interacting with students. Various sporting events take place throughout the year, which includes basketball and volleyball matches since we have both a basketball court and volleyball net for the same. Athletics, cycling competitions, fun games and dance competitions take place once in a year. Various clubs, like drama club, nature club, social welfare club, etc., are provided in our college, which gives us more than just what studies can. I have been a part of the drama club, and I have visited various IIT colleges for the competitions winning laurels and earning not only the trophy but priceless memories and photographs.
