What is PU UGLAW?

PU UGLAW is a written entrance exam conducted by Panjab University. The entrance exam is conducted for the selection of the candidates for admission in the 5 years integrated course of BA LLB and BCom LLB. The exam is held at Chandigarh, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana. The duration of the OMR based exam is 1.5 hours and it contains questions from General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law, Mental Ability, and English Language. The candidates who qualify in the entrance exam have to fill the online admission form and appear for offline counselling. The final merit list for admissions is prepared based on 50% weightage of the PU UGLAW entrance exam and 50% weightage of the qualifying exam for admissions to Colleges accepting PU ULGAW scores

The PU BA LLB entrance exam 2025 application is partly an online and partly offline process. The application process is as follows:

Step 1: Online Registration:

Once candidates complete the online registration, they get their – Application Number, Login ID and Password.

Step 2: Pay the Application Fee:

Candidates have to log in with details i.e. Application Number, ID and Password to generate fee challan. The fee can be paid in offline mode only at any branch of the State Bank of India before the last date. 

Step 3: Form Completion

Candidates need to log in again and fill the application form and upload the required documents.

Step 4: Submit the form online:

Candidates need to lock the form and submit it online.

PU UGLAW Eligibility 2025 

For securing a seat in the constituent colleges of PUCHD through PU UG Law, one has to fulfill the following required at two levels:

First, eligibility conditions to appear in the PU UGLAW entrance exam 2025:

  1. Candidates must be class 12 passed or appearing ( proof of qualifying to be provided at the time of seat allotment and counselling process). 
  2. The class 10+2 qualifying examination must be under the pattern of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent recognized Board/University/Council.

Second, eligibility for admission in BA LLB and BCom LLB courses:

  1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD) from any recognized Board/University.
  2. The applicants should have obtained 10+2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate. Or should have First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method.

The last date to fill out the PU UGLAW 2026 is not yet announced and it will be announced on the PU Chandigarh official website. The last date to deposit the PU UGLAW fee through Online mode and the deadline date for uploading of photograph, signature with rest of the information in the registration form on the website for final submission will be notified after the release of the application form. PU UGLAW Admit Card 2025

Panjab University released the admit card for the PU UGLAW entrance exam online over the official website on April 23, 2025. No admit card is sent via post or other modes. The candidate shall be allowed to appear in the test only on the production of the admit card at the Test Centre. The candidates must retain the PU UGLAW 2025 admit card with them till the admission process is over.

How to download PU UGLAW admit card 2025:

  1. Visit the official website of the PU UG Law entrance exam.
  2. Click on the ‘Admit Card’ link and the login window opens. 
  3. In the login window for admit card, enter your login ID and password and click on the 'Sign In’ button.
  4. The admit card appears on the screen, download the admit card and get at least two printouts to carry on the exam day.

The exam date, reporting time, exam centre details and many other important instructions are provided on the admit card. Therefore, keep it safe and follow all the points provided in it.

Q:   Which documents/items do I need to carry to PU UGLAW exam centre along with the admit card?

Candidates appearing for PU UGLAW exam day will be asked to carry the following items along with the admit card:

  • A valid photo Identity proof as issued by the government authority - Passport, Driver's License, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card etc. School Identity Proof with photograph of a candidate may be permitted at the discretion of the exam centre officials. 
  • Pen with blue or black ink, and an HB pencil to mark answers in OMR sheet
  • A transparent water bottle, a sanitizer bottle (50 ml) and mask will be allowed
  • Candidates were allowed to carry their medicine or eatables if they are diabetic. 
  • Candidates who are handicapped and require help of Scribe were allowed to bring their scribe with prior permission, but they were asked to carry documents for PWD category and Scribe's eligibility as per the exam authority's guidelines. 
  • Candidates were not allowed to carry mobile phones, bags and any other electronic items or smart watch inside the examination hall. 
Q:   When will the PU UGLAW 2026 admit card be released?
A: 

The PU UGLAW 2026 admit card or the PU BA LLB / BCom LLB entrance exam 2026 admit card will be released on the official UGLAW exam website of the Panjab University - uglaw.puchd.ac.in a few days before the exam. Candidates will have to download their admit card before the exam date. The PU UGLAW 2026 exam will be conducted in offline mode at exam centres in Chandigarh. It is mandatory for all candidates to carry their admit card to the exam centre on exam day. Without the admit card, they will not be allowed to appear in the exam. They also need to carry an original copy of their Aadhar Card/ PAN Card / Passport.

The question papers and answer keys will be provided on the University website exams.puchd.ac.in/show-noticeboard.php. The answer keys will be uploaded in PDF format and will have the correct answers to all questions asked in the exam. Candidates can use the answer keys to check their responses in the exam. Thus, they can get an idea of their own performance in the entrance test and thus their probable scores can be known to them.

The candidates can file their objections regarding discrepancies and accuracy of the PU UGLAW 2025 answer key by e-mail to arcet@pu.ac.in. PU UGLAW LLB Result 2025

The PU UGLAW result 2025 for BA LLB and BCom LLB was declared on the official exam website of PU UGLAW, uglaw.puchd.ac.in. There was no re-evaluation / re-checking / re-assessment provision for PU UGLAW 2025 result. The evaluation, once done by the university, will be absolutely final.

However, if a candidate wishes to verify their result, they are provided with a photocopy of their answer sheet on payment of INR 10,000/- within 10 days after the declaration of the PU UGLAW 2025. The University office would complete the whole procedure of verification within three working days. In case, a discrepancy is found in the result of the candidate, it would accordingly be revised and the verification fee is then refunded.

The exam authority releases the two merit lists, first a tentative merit list, and then a revised, provisional and final merit list. The candidates whose names appear in the tentative list can fill the admission form, and then the list for seat allotment for BA LLB and BCom LLB courses is released. 

  • Tentative merit list: The University will first publish the Preliminary Merit List of the candidates on the basis of the Entrance Test only. The candidates who get the minimum marks in PU UGLAW 2025 entrance test are included in the preliminary merit list.

PU UGLAW Counselling 2025

PU UGLAW counselling 2025 will be an offline process. To participate in the counselling process, candidates will be required to fill out the admission form online. Thereafter, they must wait for the final merit list to be out, and participate in the counselling round. Once the candidates can check their names in the final merit list they need to attend PU UGLAW counselling in person at the designated counselling venues.

Counselling must be attended according to their merit position and on the day/s shown in the counselling schedule. Physical presence in the counselling is mandatory both for the General category and Reserved category candidates as per the notified dates.

The candidate selected for admission will be required to deposit the original certificates and pay the prescribed admission fees.

Q:   How is PU UGLAW tie is resolved?
A: 

If two or more candidates received the same merit score, Panjab University will use the following process to determine their order in the merit list:

  • Higher marks in Class 12 will result in a higher rank for candidates.
  • Candidates who received higher grades in Class 10th will receive a higher rank if the tie remains.
  • The candidate who is older will be given a higher rating if the tie is still not broken.
