Review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

Placements: You can get placed in the third semester and can start sitting for interviews. A lot of students get placed in banks, corporates, ICICI Prudential, HDFC Bank. Mostly, students get placed in banks and get 40 to 50k. Students need to maintain a good CGPA to get placed.

Infrastructure: The room is provided to students in sharing in the first year. In the second year, the students are given single rooms. Classes are provided with projectors. Labs are also provided to the students. Rooms are provided with a bed, a chair, and a study table.

Faculty: The teachers are excellent, staff is so experienced. They help in providing knowledge to the students about every topic. Exams are conducted three times, two minor and one major. As I am doing MBA, the fee is 2,14,000. Mess and hostel fee is 43,000.

Other: I chose MBA because it is a great career option. Fests are conducted as per the schedule. Titiksha is there, management fests are there, garba nights during Navratri.

The campus environment is homely and healthy.

Placements: About 90% of the students in our senior batch (2016-18) got placed. Rest of the students wanted to become entrepreneurs and handle their own business, that is why they didn't apply for placements. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest was of 4 LPA. The highest stipend offered for the students of our batch during the internship in Oyo Rooms was approximately Rs. 15,000 per month. There is a training and placement cell in our college, and the name of the training and placement officer is Mr B.K Bhatia. The cell is very useful as we are exposed to the outer environment very easily.

Infrastructure: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, commonly known as SMVDU is spread over 470 acres and is located near Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. The campus is fully residential and provides technical education in the field of management, engineering, science, philosophy and other subjects of contemporary importance. All the technical courses are recognised by AICTE, CIC and COA. The university is situated at plateau surrounded by mountains on three sides, and on the foothills of Trikuta Range where the Shrine of Mata Vaishno is located. The interesting thing is the environment and greenery present on the campus. The environment is purely a bliss and far away from the pollution.

Faculty: The teachers and faculty members are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The best part is that students can approach the faculty 24*7 because both students and teachers reside on the same campus. Students can easily clear their doubts and have formal as well as informal interactions with them. The teaching methods used are very advanced, as well as student-friendly. Each faculty member is allotted 5 students, and the faculty member acts as a mentor for those five students, and the students can share their personal as well as professional problems and situations with them. They organise monthly industrial visits, where the students can have industrial exposure. Regular educational tours are being provided. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it will appear as an effective learning process.

Other: Fests are organised regularly. Titiksha, Tatva, Resurgence are a few of the fests where social gathering from other universities happens. There are scholarships provided for meritorious students. There is free internet connectivity on the campus, and it is provided for 24 hours to students and faculty. A lot of international conferences for each department are organised frequently.

It was a great experience to be a student of the university.

Placements: Many prestigious companies visit college near completion of the degree. The salary package depends upon the profile and the companies which are hiring. Among 50 students 30 students get placed in different companies, and the rest of students were not interested in doing the job as early or there where other reasons.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good. The facilities like Wi-Fi, playground, computer labs, indoor auditorium, library, medical dispensary, conference hall, volleyball courts, football courts etc. Separate hostels for boys and girls and there is walking distance from hostels to campus.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly-qualified having well-teaching techniques and skills. Smart classes and projector are used while teaching. They also take seminars and workshops. The college also provided official tours for the study.

Other: The college conducts annual function, republic day celebration, independence day celebrations, and also pollywood and Bollywood Stars programs, and conferences are also held.

Good college with nice infrastructure, but should have good coordination between teachers.

Placements: Placements was good our seniors got around 80% placements. And in our batch till now 40 students are placed and 2 more companies are coming in this month. Our batch have 60 students. The highest salary was 5.5 LPA and the lowest was 3.5LPA. Companies visited are Mahindra first choice, Mahindra Logistics, Icici Bank, Icici prudential, HDFC Amc, HDFC bank, Coca Cola, ceasefire, peoplite, Sonalika tractors etc. They give role of business trainee, Logistics manager, personal banker and according to the specialisation of student.

Infrastructure: Our college is very good in infrastructure. Our college is equipped with the latest labs like intel 5g lab, projectors in all classrooms, library for all department, library, medical centre 24*7, games like football, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis, cricket, badminton etc. Food is also good in our mess. Our mess serves vegetarian food. We also have Sagar ratna, fun bytes, coffee day, nescafe, local fastfood canteen in campus. Our new hostels are very good, they have lift, Godrej interior, bathrooms are also hygienic. I don't face any big issue during my tenure, I had some problem in bathroom in old hostel but it was corrected in 2 days only by our caretaker.

Faculty: Our teachers are well qualified. All have done Phds and they are qualified from great institutes like IIT Roorkee, BHU etc. But they are not socially with each other they don't talk to each other more, which gibe bad impression on students also. Teaching quality is good but they can improve it more by giving more practical knowledge. They are now starting new course curriculum in which they are more focusing on practical and industrial exposure. Yes we got industry exposure, we had our industrial visit at Mondelez (Cadbury India) Baddi Himachal Pradesh, Dabour Jammu, Kingfisher water Katra etc. Yes our course curriculum is useful.

Other: Events are often in our college, we conduct TATVA management fest every year and it was good event which have crowd from many other states also. Our college brought good speakers for us also like Sunil bharti mital is coming in this month, President of India is coming in Convocation, and many guest lecturer from the professors of IIM And many more colleges. Our college have connectivity of rail and road, the nearest railway station is 10 kms from our campus and NHA1 is 5 kms from campus. Our college also gave scholarship to the students who have good scores in CAT MAT. We also do extracurricular activities like participation in quiz like Tata quiz, management fest of other colleges etc.

The college has good infrastructure and has a pleasant atmosphere for study.

Placements: Mostly 80% of the students got placed in the placements, and in our senior batch, there were 70% placements. The highest package was of ICICI Bank that includes 4.25 LPA, and the least was of HDFC Bank LTD that include 2.12 LPA. 100 % of the students have got the internship, and out of which, 40% of the students got the stipend.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome in this college. The college is built with best in class furniture. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The campus also includes a full-fledged dispensary. There are three mini playgrounds and one big stadium. The food in the mess is best-in-class in the whole north campuses.

Faculty: The faculty is highly educated and comprises of whole India, and they are dedicated, honest and works for the students. The student to faculty ratio is generally on an average 30:1 which enables us to interact with the faculty members easily. The faculty members in this college are supportive. They regularly take assignments.

Other: Good but too expensive and not up to mark. Very cheap crowd, I will not suggest anyone to come here and study. Water is not provided on time also electricity is poor. Teachers are good, but no effort of intellectual, improvement is taken. Bookish knowledge is granted. It should be improved and made better. I suggest that, it should be installed in the campus as MBA students are paying huge amount of money.
