No, CAT is not necessary for MBA at BHU. The university offers a two-year full-time MBA course at the postgraduate level. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the University (bhu.ac.in) to apply online. BHU MBA admission is based on candidates' performance in the CAT entrance test. The final selection is based on the student's performance in the GD & PI rounds. However, for admission to the MBA special courses of study, candidates can get admission with a valid CUET-PG score. Apart from this, the course aspirants must fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements as well.

Banaras Hindu University accepts CAT and CUET-PG scores for admission to its MBA programmes. For the MBA (IB) and MBA courses, aspirants should have a valid score of CAT. Shortlisted candidates are further called for the group discussion and personal interview round. The selection rounds along with the assigned weightage are mentioned below:

• Qualifying exam: 50% weightage
• Academic record: 20% weightage
• GDPI (conducted by FMS, BHU): 30% weightage

Institute of Management Studies BHU Admission to the MBA programme of the Institute will be made on the basis of combined merit of the candidates in CAT conducted by IIM (50%), Academic Records (20%) and Group Discussion & Personal Interview (30%). Before applying for the CAT exam, candidate must first be eligibile i.e. 

Eligibility: Bachelor's Degree with 50 % aggregate

The university provides direct admission to the candidates who have represented India in any game/sports approved by their IOA/Federation organized at Olympic/World/Asian/Common Wealth games/SAF and World University, as per the AIU list.
