SRM University BCom and BCom (Hons) Admission 2023
SRM IST Chennai also offers a three-year BCom and BCom (Hons) in four and two specialisations, respectively, in the field of Commerce & Accounting at the UG level. Those meeting the minimum eligibility criteria are called for admission counselling. Upon selection, tuition and other applicable fees need to be paid during the counselling session.

My experience in SRM University .
Placements: 200 plus companies are arriving at SRM for placements; the minimum package is 2.5 LPA. You will get at any companies depending on your skills and knowledge; the eligibility criteria is that you have a score of at least 7 CGP with no backlogs and a minimum 60 percentage in both 10 and 12. TCS, Accenture, Sutherland, etc. are the top recruiters; roles may differ from department to department.
Infrastructure: In SRM, the campus is so neat and clean, computer labs have air conditioning and Wi-Fi, every classroom has individual Wi-Fi access for a student, benches are so enough for class members, ventilation is quite enough, and we have 6 floors full of books for each department.
Faculty: Faculty members are so talented and adoptive towards students; they are well trained and friendly in nature. My course is a combined course, so we have wider exposure to face our future. The semester exams are moderate level, and all questions are taken from the syllabus and are so creative.
Other: My course is a combined course of finance, computer science, and management, so I decided to choose this course because of its accessibility. Some filler subjects are there like EVS, etc. They are so low-level it's got to improve syllabus-wise. Milan is a famous event in SRM; it is conducted in February every year. So many clubs and sports activities are there in SRM .

About SRM COMMERCE DEPARTMENT .
Placements: I am studying B.Com. in Accounting and Finance. Here, placements are very nice; they provide internships in various companies and industries. It is very helpful for our knowledge, skills, and improvement. The major companies are Accenture, Deloitte, PWC, and Zoho.
Infrastructure: I am staying in a PF hostel, which is located in Potheri Camps. Here they provide both north Indian and south Indian food, the water is good, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The wardens are friendly, and they provide free Wi-Fi to all. There is also a free gym for hostel students.
Faculty: The faculty are very friendly, and the teaching quality is very good. The pass percentage is 40. The exams are a little bit difficult, but they are taught well before the exam. Technology helps to teach all, and they have projectors in every class they conduct three before the semester.
Other: In this college, the events are very good. They provide scholarships for students.

About SRMIST FSH Commerce Department.
Placements: At SRM, especially the KTR campus and Vadapalani campus, B.Com. in International Accounting and Finance is offered. It is collaborative with the professional course at ACCA UK. Many top companies visit SRM, and they recruit many students who are at least part-qualified ACCAs.
Infrastructure: I am in the hostel only and they provide a variety of foods, such as North Indian and South Indian dishes, for students. The wardens are very friendly. They clarify our doubts simply during the admissions process. Water and Wi-Fi facilities are awesome in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers use the blackboard method until the students understand the deep accounting concepts. Many qualified and experienced teachers are in all departments. In fact, they recruit transgender people as faculty members in the fashion and English departments.

Overall, an above average college.
Placements: For B.Com. students, there will be an average package of 2 to 3 lacs p.a. For that, they have to secure more than 60% in classes 10 and 12. They also have to secure a CGPA of 7 or above. You will be placed in BPO and other sectors, some of which will not relate to your course.
Infrastructure: You will have a Wi-Fi classroom and the canteen will be near your block. There will be a free hospital and medical services on campus. There will be many programs, festivals, and cultural events at the college. There is also a dual-degree option, like BBA and B.Com. together.
Faculty: The faculty's teaching will be average. You can easily score good marks in the semester. You can choose many special course like accounting and finance, professional accounting, information system management, etc. The semester exam will not be that difficult; it will be average.
Other: Overall, you will enjoy your college life and you will be able to network with many people.

Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed from our department in good companies with good salary packages. Top recruiting companies are Google, Infosys, and Microsoft. Top roles offered are manager, team leader, and HR. The salary package offered ranges between 2 LPA - 10 LPA. Our department does not provide internships.
Infrastructure: The hostel provides very good facilities and infrastructure. We have a huge library. It has all types of books. They are useful for everyone. The library will be closed at 2 pm. The hostel provides good and hygienic food. It provides a variety of food items. It provides vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items. Medical facilities are good. The hospital is available 24X7.
Faculty: All faculty members are helpful during exams. They are qualified and knowledgeable. They have experience. They are seniors. They focus on students' well-being. They provide mental help and physical help. The pass percentage is more than 95%. Our faculty members make students understand the concept, so they can get more grades in the university exam and other exams. They conduct many workshops for students to get knowledge about a lot of things.
Other: Our college conducts many programs where students can learn and enjoy their college life. Students conduct programs. Through this, students can know how to manage critical times in life. They focus on sports at international levels.

It is an excellent college and I recommend you join it.
Placements: At our college, almost all students are placed. Most of them come through some sort of scholarship, which helps students study better. The highest salary package offered is 32 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Infosys, Amazon, etc., visit our campus.
Infrastructure: Our college facilities are excellent. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Students can connect to the internet at any time. I chose PG because the security in a hostel is very strict. The campus is surrounded by many shops where you can get good food and stationery at reasonable prices.
Faculty: Our teachers are well qualified. They have great knowledge, and you can easily understand the topic if you listen to the class. The course curriculum is very relevant, as they provide it at the beginning of the course. They prepare for placements and assist students in preparing for interviews.

The SRMIST average package for 2025 stood at INR 6.68 LPA. Earlier, the average package for 2024 placements stood at INR 7.13 LPA and in 2023 it was INR 10.5 LPA.

As per the latest statistics, 9740 job offers were rolled to the 2025 batch students. Earlier, the number of offers made during SRMIST placements 2024 was over 6291. The number of high paing offers in 2025 was 4227 and in 2024 it was above 3295.
