SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur BDes Admission
In the field of Design, SRM IST Kattankulathur offers a three-year BSc in Interior Design programme to the students. Final admission to BDes in Interior Design is based on a valid score in UCEED score followed by a written test and a Personal Interview (PI) conducted by SRM IST. Candidates, not having a UCEED score, are selected only via written test and PI conducted by SRM IST. However, those with a valid score in the UCEED exam are preferred.

2 - Enter communication details and register.
3 - Fill in all the personal details.
4 - Select the desired course.
5 - Enter details of Father and Mother.
6 - Candidates need to enter their educational qualifications in the next step.
7 - For online registration or downloaded forms, candidates need to pay INR 1,200 either through e-payment or DD.
8 - On successful submission of the application form, students must save their application number for future reference.
Note: The application fee for the SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur application form can be paid both online and offline. Online payment can be done by using a valid debit and credit card. In the case of offline payment, it can be done through a DD drawn in favour of SRMIST, Payable at Chennai.

Review of SRMIST - SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
Placements: Placements are not provided for B.Des students, and we will have to find it by ourselves even for the internship, which is the part of the curriculum. Roles offered to the students are junior interior designer, interior design consultant, interior analyst and interior designer.
Infrastructure: The department has various paintings, structures and artefacts which are made by the students as part of the curriculum or as part of the fest. The infrastructure of our college should be improved as there used to be water leaks during monsoon. There is only one lab for the whole department, and we had to use the lab in MBA block. Library holds necessary books and thesis works. Wi-Fi range is not good in the block. Hostel rooms are cleaned every day. Mess food is good at times, and there are varieties of options. Sometimes it gets over fast, and they take time to refill.
Faculty: Few faculty members who are experienced with working outsides gives the insight of the usefulness regarding the syllabus. Most of the faculty members just teach according to the syllabus. The course curriculum should be more related to the field and should be given practical experience, and software should be taught briefly.
Other: The college provides exposure to extracurricular activities and fests. The campus is with people from different cultures.

The SRMIST average package for 2025 stood at INR 6.68 LPA. Earlier, the average package for 2024 placements stood at INR 7.13 LPA and in 2023 it was INR 10.5 LPA.

As per the latest statistics, 9740 job offers were rolled to the 2025 batch students. Earlier, the number of offers made during SRMIST placements 2024 was over 6291. The number of high paing offers in 2025 was 4227 and in 2024 it was above 3295.
