SRM University Chennai offers Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses at the UG level in the Medical stream through NEET UG scores followed by round-wise NEET Counselling. As per SRM University Chennai cutoff 2024, the last-round closing rank was 195886 for admission to the MBBS course. The Round 1 closing rank for the same stood at 637582 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. 

For BDS admission, the NEET UG first and last-round closing ranks were 980273 and 980273, respectively. 

As per the latest statistics, 9740 job offers were rolled to the 2025 batch students. Earlier, the number of offers made during SRMIST placements 2024 was over 6291. The number of high paying offers in 2025 was 4227 and in 2024 it was above 3295.

Candidates who withdraw their admission and seeking for fee refund at SRM University, must contact the admission office of the university and go through the refund policies. As per the details collated from the unofficial sources, candidates can also donwload the refund form from the official website. After filling the form and attaching the relevant documents, the form can be submitted to the SRM university admin department main campus.

Candidates seeking PhD admission are required to appear for an entrance test conducted by SRM IST. This test is conducted via CBT mode. The test is followed by a presentation and PI round conducted by the related department. However, those who’ve qualified UGC NET (including JRF)/ CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE or teacher fellowship holders are exempted from writing the deemed university-level entrance exam for admission.

SRM University accepts XAT, MAT scores. To get into the institute it is necessary for the candidates to score at least 50 percentile for which they will selection under XAT. Further, MBA cutoff for XAT and MAT exam stood at 50 and 80, respectively, for the open category candidates.

NEET exam is conducted for the admission to medical courses such as MBBS and BDS. NTA declares the result of the candidates attempting to secure a seat at various colleges in India. • Candidates first need to check whether they have qualified for the exam or not, by comparing their obtained score with the qualifying or cutoff marks.

No, candidates must pay all fees online or by DD. No cash payment is allowed for the counselling process. The candidates who qualify for SRMJEEE must appear for the counselling rounds with their documents for verification. SRMIST is conducting the counselling online. For online counselling, candidates are informed the details through email or text messages. To participate in SRMJEEE counselling in online mode (SRM counselling), candidates have to register and pay the required fee.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology MBA admission is entrance-based. Before applying for the PG programme, aspirants shall ensure that they fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements. The eligible candidates can visit the SRM IST Chennai official website to register and apply. Applications are then shortlisted based on applicants scores in MAT/CAT/XAT/NMAT/CMAT/TANCET MBA/SRMJEEM/SRMJEEE. 

Shortlisted candidates are then called for the personal interview round. After final selection, the seat allotment procedure is carried out. Candidates can then pay the admission fee amount to confirm their seat.

Admission to SRM University has been conducted under SRMHCAT through MAT, XAT scores. To get into SRM University, candidates need to acquire a cutoff rank of 80 for MAT and 50 for XAT under open category. Comparing it to the previous years' cutoff, it remained same over the years. No change has been witnessed in the cutoffs in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
