B.Tech. in Food Engineering and Technology - Batch of 2020
4.8
Best university in our country.
Placements: Placement in our department is very good compare to others branches. Our seniors are now in very good companies like ITC, Dabur, Nastle, Adani group, Amul, Britannia. Etc. Some of the graduate students are abroad for the higher studies like UK, Australia.
Infrastructure: Overall infrastructure in good Wi-Fi speed is pretty good, labs are cleanly and all the instrument are available, book are available in our library regarding our course. Now Come to the hostels; we have 5 Men's Hostel including one is for Research schoolers and there are 6 Women's hostel including one is for research schoolers.
Faculty: Faculty are very friendly to everyone, very helpful regarding our course. In our department, all are PhD holders so they know how to teach us. Teaching methods are good they take exams after the completion the course and presentations also. We have a very strong connection with food industries. Last time adani's vice president and Haldhiram's boss came for industrial exposure.

A good university with excellent infrastructure, environment and facilities along with its academia.
Placements: Placements, even if not 100%, are fair enough and have shown a progress with every passing year. The package varies from 3-12 LPA. The common recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Intel, IBM, etc. But for food engineering, we have specific recruiters like Nestle, ITC, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is actually very good with adequate facilities like 24x7 Wi-Fi, electricity, water and all basic amenities. Enough facilities are there for co-curricular activities as well as sports. Laboratories are well-equipped. Overall, there is a very healthy atmosphere. There is a medical center for any kind of emergencies.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-experienced and cooperative. The course curriculum is good but a bit hectic evaluation process which is in fact not very tough to cope up with. We were arranged for industrial internships by the department which was a good exposure to the industrial line.

Best infrastructure with little dots.
Placements: As the university has made itself one of the top institutions in the country, the placement scenario will rise from good to better. Overall, a rating of 3.5 out 5 can be provided to its placement cell. From the batch of 2016, students from Computer Science and Engineering bagged most of the jobs. The other engineering departments were backsided. Especially the Food Engineering department suffered the most penalty. So let's hope for a better placement in the years to come.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is the heart of Tezpur University. With best hostels to the best sports centre to the best library, everything is just perfect. If also you are away from your home you do not have to miss the mom's made food aka ghar ka khana. Because the various eateries in the campus can just take away your heart and stomach too.
Faculty: The course curriculum no doubt is the perfect one. Also, if you are sincere, then you cannot ask for more, it's sufficient. From the viewpoint of a student or an ex-student faculty can be more friendly and liberal with everyone. After all, they are our second parents.
Other: Everything has been mentioned above so no other laurels can be added apart from the cultural achievement. The university is very active in winning laurels for drama, folk dance and other activities. Also if you are a cultural person, then this place belongs to you. Also, it can be concluded that you can explore your talents here if you were not aware of them.

Talent hunt of Tezpur University.
Placements: Placements are not up to the mark. The placement of our batch was good for Computer Science students but not for other courses. Out of 30 students, only 5 got selected. Companies like Britannia and ITC came to our college. Yes, we were provided with an internship from the college in different companies like Mother Dairy, Coca-Cola, Britannia, Nezone etc. No stipend was provided.
Infrastructure: All we can say is that Tezpur University has the best infrastructure among all good universities of India. It has good hostel facilities along with Wi-Fi, a big playground and scope to bring outcomes in various fields. The food is hygienic and of good quality. Classrooms are well defined and there are high technology laboratories with advanced machinery in the workshop.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and educated. The teachers are alumni from different IITs and foreign universities. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching methods are interesting and full of excitement. We got a lot of industry exposure. 1:20 is the faculty to students ratio. The course curriculum was very useful.

Horrible placement, great campus. Go, decide!
Placements: Honestly, no company visited our department during my final year. I, along with other classmates from my department, sat for two interviews that had nothing to do with my department, as there was no specific criteria. All the responsibility for placement is given to the students. The teachers should try to invite companies instead of relying on students. One company, CG foods, hired a few people, but the pay was only Rs. 11000 per month, and the work was exhausting. Not suitable for an educated person. About internships, everyone got it. No stipend was paid for that to any of us. I hope things change in the future.
Infrastructure: The campus is awesome. There's free wifi available, though it's weak in some rooms. The labs are okay, though they could be maintained better. Doctors are there, but they aren't up to the mark. Huge space available for outdoor games such as basketball, football, cricket. Gym facility is also there. The library is cool. It houses a number of books. Food in the hostels is okay. The rooms are great in some hostels. There was rarely any power cut during my tenure.
Faculty: Some teachers were really knowledgeable and helpful, while others just beat around the bush. Teaching was okay. We visited an industry, in the 3rd year, though I didn't learn much from it. The student to faculty ratio was quite good for our department, since we had less number of students.

Elegant infrastructure with strict rules.
Placements: Placement is still a concealed occasion for the Department of Food Engineering and Technology. During my tenure as a student, an approximate of 20 percent B.Tech graduates were placed. The recruiting companies are under-deserving. Coming to remuneration. It is like they compensate the students unfairly. Internships and stipend are two sides of a river which can never meet. The students have to spend a lot of money which burns a hole in one's pocket.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is the magnet of the University. If you want to waste your graduate life in an elegant manner, then it is definitely the right choice. Starting from Wi-Fi and hostels to canteen and classrooms, everything is best. Also, if you are a cultural, spiritual and sporty person then you must stay here and rise. Coming to the labs, sophisticated instruments can be found. Also, you can catch up for delicious food in the various eateries.
Faculty: The course curriculum is definitely useful when you are concerned with your studies. Some of the faculty members are extremely helpful and encourage the students with great ideas. Conventional techniques are used for teaching. Industry exposure as mentioned in the placement box shall be considered. Approximately, the student to teacher ratio is 14.36:1.

It is the best university ever in North-East Asia at low fees.
Placements: I give 4 stars for placements because the placement percentage increases every year, and now, the placement percentage is 56-62%. Last year, the highest package offered was 15 LPA, the lowest package was 3-4 LPA, and the average package was 5-6 LPA. Last year, the highest package increased by 8 LPA, which is pretty impressive. In my course, the top recruiting companies are Amul, Dabur, Emami, Patanjali and ITC. Many other big companies visit this university for placements. Approximately 30-40% of the students got internships from our course in Emami, ITC, Patanjali etc. Executive officer, relationship manager and production manager are the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: There are all kinds of world-class facilities and infrastructure available in our course. There are top-class hostels where you get a big room for two people only. The mess food is pretty good. There is a cricket and football stadium. There is a table tennis table in every hostel floor, and 2 basketball courts are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly. They are all doctorate holders. Their teaching quality is good. At present, this course is very relevant, and the other industry-related assignments and many seminars make students ready for industry.
Other: At present, the population is growing very rapidly. So, the food technology branch has good growth, so I chose this branch. I didn't observe anything to be better in this course because the course is compact. There are a lot of fests like Bihu fest, freshers party etc. The campus crowd is good. TU is connected with national highways and Tezpur airport, and Broad gauge railway lines. There are many extracurricular activities.

Review of Tezpur University.
Placements: Our department has good placements and opportunities for students. I am not very sure about other departments. The salary package offered is not very high, but they are moderate. Good companies visit our university to offer jobs. There is a placement cell, and students also go for internships.
Infrastructure: There is free Wi-Fi. Classrooms are well-equipped and air conditioned. There is a health centre within the campus itself. The infrastructure is the best. Facilities for sports are very good. Labs are well-equipped. The food provided in the hostels is good, although sometimes it gets boring due to bad maintenance of the mess manager. The hostel rooms are average, and also it depends on the students on how they maintain the rooms.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified and experienced. 1st and 2nd second semester is a bit tough to adjust. The teaching method used right now is average, I hope for better in the upcoming semesters. Attendance is strictly observed. There's an exam every month which is pressure for students. Rest everything is okay.
Other: All the facilities provided in our college are amazing. Scholarships are provided to students for their excellence. The fest is very popular and considered to be the second of the biggest fest in the northeast.
