Yes, interested candidates can apply for distance learning courses through the Institute of Distance & Open Learning (IDOL), University of Mumbai. It offers various UG, PG, and Diploma courses in several specialisations. Students at the Institute of Distance & Open Learning (IDOL), University of Mumbai get placed at renowned organizations. It also offers various scholarship schemes. Admission to all the courses is offered based on a valid score in the qualifying exam except for MCA.  In the field of Commerce and Accounting, Mumbai University offers a two-year MCom programme via more than 120 colleges affiliated with it. Admission to MCom is subject to a valid score in the last qualifying exam at the undergraduate level. The University offers MCom of two-year duration via its Faculty of Commerce and other affiliated colleges. Via the Faculty of Commerce, MCom is offered across two specialisations. Candidates are required to have merit in the last qualifying exam for selection and meet the minimum eligibility criteria which is to pass a relevant undergraduate degree with an aggregate ranging between 40% and 60%. No, the university does not conduct or accept any entrance exam for MA admission. Candidates seeking admission are only required to submit the pre-enrollment form along with the application form to get admission. However, for a few MA courses, the University/ MU-affiliated college conducts a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) after the written test. Selected candidates, who find their names in their merit lists released by the University, are required to appear for a document verification process to confirm their seat.  To be eligible for BTech at Mumbai University affiliated colleges, students must fulfil the below eligibility criteria:

• They must be a pass in Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects and have a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for backward categories students from Maharashtra) 
• For Biomedical and Biotech Engineering specialisations: Candidates, along with the specialisation mentioned above, must have Biology as a qualifying exam with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for backward categories students from Maharashtra)

University of Mumbai course fee is the sum of various components, which are either one-time chargeable or have to be paid annually/semesterly. MU BA tuition fees range between INR 2,400 and INR 14.6 lakh. This fee range has the tuition fee for BA and integrated BA courses. The University of Mumbai offers two-year MA and MA (Hons) programmes in multiple specialisations to students at the postgraduate level. Out of these, MA General has 27 specialisations under it, namely Hindi, History, Economics and Arabic, among others. Admission to a majority of MA specialisations is based on university-conducted/ college-specific entrance exams. For remaining MA specialisations and MA (Hons) programmes, admission is subject to merit scores obtained by the students in the last qualifying degree exams. IDOL University Mumbai gives scholarships for UG/PG students who are greatly interested in doing or completing a BA degree. The University has established seat reservation policies as given by the Indian government & also gives scholarships for candidates in several reserved categories. The seat reservation policy is set basis the category of the students like General, OBC, SC/ST, PWD, etc., and the seat availability. Students from SC/ST categories can also apply for the RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP SCHEME (RGNFS) sponsored by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India.

The Late Shri Mohan Lal Tannan Scholarship which values INR 1,000 each for two years. It is awarded annually to the two candidates who pass the BCom degree examination at the first attempt and secures the highest and the second the highest number of marks respectively, but not less than 55% of marks on the aggregate among the candidates.

Yes, Mithibai College does offers BSc in  Biotechnology at UG level. The course is offered at Mithibai College under the Department of Science. Admission to this course is entrance-based.
