M.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2021

2.6

Ethiraj College for Women.
Placements: We are focusing on specified destinations like medical Physicist, Astrophysicist, and research scientists because they are offering a good pay. The average pay would normally be between 3.6 LPA - 16 LPA and the rate of placement succession would be 75.4 percent.
Infrastructure: We were shown our various achievements in sports due to the unconditional support provided by the college management. The college buses are so crowded with liberal safety measures, and there is no one to control the students within the bus. The library is not used by us often; instead, we use laboratories for research and to gather information.
Faculty: The college was looking for dedicated and passionate teachers, but they won’t find as expected. Not even a single session of the teachers is complete; every day is a battle for us with the faculty members, who keep on ordering or dominating the students. As we were looking for dedicated and passionate teachers, we won’t find as many. Never a single session of the teachers is complete; every day is a battle for us with the faculty members, who keep on ordering or dominating the students, which creates some kind of inferiority.

UG life in Shasun was memorable, it created an impact on me. Thank you, Shasun.
Placements: The most reputed companies that recruited for my course are Accenture, Sutherland, and several others. The average package offered ranges from 3.5 LPA to 4.5 LPA. The major roles offered are cloud assistant and similar technical roles. The placement cell provided necessary training and support to the students, enabling them to face the grounds confidently.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped with light. Even though the campus looks smaller, it is located in the heart of the city and offers all the necessary facilities for students, with no compromises made. All the areas in the college are used properly. The canteen provides a wide variety of vegetarian options, and it is neat.
Faculty: In my department, all the teachers are well acquainted with knowledge and they will clear your doubts then and there. The course and the extra courses, like SEA, make us ready for the job market. The semester exams are conducted by Madras University, and the minimum passing percentage is 35 percent for all modules.
Other: The college has two major events, that is Shreyas and Talent Hunt. These two events encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, and they'll gain various experiences and friends. It's one of the places where students can network and also enjoy.

Overall good for students and their future
Placements: The placement support at our college has truly impressed me. Many well-known organizations, such as TCS, Cognizant, and others, regularly visit for campus drives. I’ve noticed most of my classmates manage to secure job offers before graduation. The placement percentage is consistently high, and the training provided really boosts our chances. Overall, I’d confidently rate the placement efforts 8.5 out of 10.
Infrastructure: From my perspective, the college environment is modern and overall very student-friendly. The classrooms, labs, and other facilities are well-maintained, and there is always space around campus to study or relax. Compared to a few other colleges I have seen, our infrastructure stands out for its cleanliness and the constant availability of resources like Wi-Fi and a good canteen.
Faculty: I find the faculty here approachable and always willing to clear up any doubts. Most teachers explain topics in a way that’s easy to understand, which really helps during exams. The curriculum is up-to-date, and internal assessments help us prepare well for final exams without feeling too overwhelmed. The examination process is smooth, and I appreciate the emphasis on practical learning.
Other: Easy availability and best academics.

Overall, I would recommend this college to my friends and family.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed, with companies like Infosys, TCS, and Cognizant visiting our campus. In my course, mostly 70% of students get placed. The lowest package offered is Rs. 15,000. The top roles offered are mostly based on communication, such as telecalling or communication management.
Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities. The quality of food is very good. We have a ground, and sometimes we have PT periods to keep our bodies fit and healthy. There is also a gym. The medical facilities are really good for both mental and physical health.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant. It is easy to understand and study.
