VBSPU, Jaunpur accepts PUCAT, or the Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test, as the entrance to the BSc programme. Candidates are selected for the BSc programme based on their performance in the entrance exam. Other than PUCAT, VBSPU accepts other entrance examinations regarding the various courses it offers. However, in the case of a BSc programme, only PUCAT is required as the entrance examination. Any candidate seeking admission to the BSc programme has to register for PUCAT invariably and prepare accordingly, as admission depends upon performance in that test.

The expected cutoff for the BSc programme of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University has not been declared for 2024. However, it shall be based on the marks in PUCAT and the overall performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination. Besides, the university released an overall 2022 cutoff for the BSc programme. The cutoff may vary every year because of the following factors:

However, the university offers merit-based scholarships, fee waivers, or any other form of financial aid to meritorious students whose marks may be more than 80% in aggregate considering their previous academic performance or based on their socio-economic background. Apart from these, the Post-Matric Scholarship is offered for candidates whose parents/guardians total income doesn't come up to INR 2 Lacs for Backward Caste, General, Minorities, and INR 2.5 Lacs for SC/ST category candidates.

After considering all the specialisations, around 50%-70% of seats are allocated to the candidates who qualify the accepted entrances such as PUCAT, and JEE Main. For UG and PG courses, the CUET exam scores are taken into consideration for admission to fill 50% of seats. For courses such as BTech, JEE Main’s scores are considered to allocate 70% of seats, and the remaining 30% are allocated via the PUCAT exam. Some courses such as BCA and diplomas require the PUCAT exam after the qualification of 10+2.
