The Career Development Centre of Vellore Institute of Technology is essential in creating VIT's prestigious placement record. It guarantees the seamless operation of the recruitment activities on campus. The centre also supports the students' training initiatives and ensures that they are hired by the top organisations. Contacting employers, issuing invitations and employer registration forms, finalising recruitments with logistical assistance, registering students via the campus engagement portal, supporting the recruitment process, and providing post-offer support are the steps of the Career Development Centre’s placement process.

The Vellore Institute of Technology's placement process starts in January and completes a year later when students have been offered jobs at MNCs with a package of more than three lakhs per annum. The placement procedures are referred to by the students as a Mega Event, and they are eager to take part in it. To perform better in the placement interviews, the placement cell ensures that all students are proficient in coding and aptitude abilities. 

By setting up sessions with experienced trainers and VIT alumni, the Placement Career Development Centre assists students in preparing for placement interviews in the technical and HR areas. Additionally, the placement centre ensures that the students are ready for group discussions.

By July, recruiting companies are on campus with offers to help students achieve their goals through a variety of placement possibilities. 

Vellore Institute of Technology guarantees job placement for all of its graduates in reputed MNCs and start-ups. The CDC of VIT Office offers students various opportunities during placements to choose from after they complete their course at the end.

Placement Interviews at VIT

The number of rounds in a selection process is nearly two to five including aptitude or written test, coding round, group discussion, technical interview, HR interview, or personal interview. Topics covered in the interviews are general knowledge, technical questions depending on the subjects of the student, current affairs, logical reasoning and situational analysis.

Duration of Group Discussion ranges from half an hour to one hour. From this, students are shortlisted for the technical or personal interview round. The duration of the personal interview round ranges from 10 minutes to 1 hour. This is based on the student’s performance and behaviour in the whole interview process. The final interview decides, who will receive the placement offer.
