Commonly asked questions
Q:   Is UGAT syllabus difficult?
A:

UGAT syllabus difficulty level is similar to other BBA entrance exams. But, it is much easier than BBA+MBA syllabus of IPMAT. A good preparation can get good scores in UGAT.

Q:   Are 6 months enough to cover the UGAT syllabus?
A:

Covering the UGAT syllabus depends on the current level of UGAT preparation, understanding of the concepts and syllabus and the time candidates can devote to studying each day.

Completing the UGAT syllabus in six months can be easier if the candidate has a strong hold on the subjects in the UGAT syllabus, such as Mathematics, English, General Knowledge and Reasoning. Students should assess how many hours they can dedicate to UGAT preparation each day. Consistent and focused daily study can help the candidate prepare well and cover the syllabus. To prepare better, aspirants should create a well structured study plan and allocate time for each topic, to cover the complete UGAT syllabus. When the candidates have covered the syllabus, they can leave some time in the final weeks before the exam for revision.

Hence, six months can be enough to cover the UGAT syllabus.

Q:   Is UGAT an offline or an online exam?
A:

UGAT exam will be conducted in paper-based test mode, this year. The UGAT exam is conducted only in the offline or paper-based test mode.

Essential Preparation Tips for UGAT 2025 Exam

Check out the last-minute preparation tips for the UGAT 2025 exam below.

  • Revise the Important Topics: Candidates should rely on short notes for revision and avoid checking the entire chapter and topics in detail. This will save them a lot of time. Candidates should emphasize topics which are considered to have more weightage as per the previous years’ UGAT question papers. The probability of questions coming from the important topics is much higher than the less common topics. It is equally important to make a separate notebook for all the important formulas and tricks and revise them regularly.
  • Sequence of Attempting Questions: The sequence in which a candidate attempts questions can make a big difference in his overall score. UGAT question paper will be divided into four sections - English Language, Numerical and Data Analysis, Reasoning and Intelligence, and General Knowledge. It is advised that candidates start with the section they are most confident about. If a candidate’s strength lies in General Knowledge, he/she can gain a quick score without investing much time in it or if one is fast at calculations, he/she can start with the Quant section. It is equally important to change the exam strategy based on the difficulty level of the question paper. Since there is no provision for the sectional time limit in UGAT exam, test takers can switch sections as per their needs.
  • Say No to Self-Doubt: Mental toughness is a prerequisite for success in any kind of competitive exam. Candidates should never let self-doubt creep in as it may hamper their performance in the exam. The last few days before the exam are crucial. Hence it is necessary to be calm and avoid stress. The best way forward is to check a topic, solve questions based on it and move forward. Those who still have doubts in one or more areas can make a list of such topics and reach out to a mentor or a friend who can help them get through it.
  • Strategy for the Exam Day: Candidates should develop a sound strategy for the D-day. They should reach the exam centre with a stress-free mind. They should carry all the required documents including UGAT admit card and identity proof to the exam centre as this may be another cause of stress. One should not be overwhelmed if the first few questions turn out to be difficult. Candidates should set a fixed time to answer each question and move to the next one if they fail to answer within the stipulated time.
  • Staying Focused: Studying for long hours may take a toll on candidates’ concentration and health. It is always advisable to take short breaks and engage in activities like meditation and yoga to rejuvenate the mind. They should keep themselves hydrated and consume light food before studying hours. It reduces fatigue and helps in improving concentration. Candidates should also avoid usual distractions during study hours. They must put away any gadget which may decrease their productivity. One should always remember that success in UGAT demands patience and consistency.
  • Steer Clear of Peer Pressure: One should not be bogged down by peer pressure or fear of not meeting expectations. They should analyse their preparation based on their performance in the UGAT mock test and make changes accordingly.  Several entrance tests based on the UGAT exam pattern are available on online platforms where candidates can practice and check their ranks. It will help them get a good idea of the exam format and the types of questions asked in the exam. With subsequent tests, they will gain confidence and also improve their overall score. Candidates can make a list of different types of questions along with the quickest way to find their solution.
  • Focus on Accuracy: For an aspirant, speed should not be the sole consideration to perform well in the exam. Since there is no provision for negative marking in UGAT exam, test takers should first focus on accuracy. It often happens that in order to make maximum attempts, candidates make silly mistakes and therefore, lose out on the precious scores. Once they are confident about their answers, they can strive to solve more questions within the stipulated time.
