IPMAT 2024 cut off is the minimum score required for admission to the five-year integrated course offered by IIM Indore. For admissions, candidates have to meet the minimum IPMAT cut-off and clear the selection round which includes in-personal Personal Interview.

IPM Aptitude Test 2024 exam was conducted on May 23, 2024. The difficulty level of the IPMAT 2024 question paper was moderate. IPMAT 2024 results were announced on June 7, 2024. Read all about IPMAT cut-offs 2024 below.

Q:   How should I manage the sectional cut-off of IPMAT?

A:

To manage the sectional cut-off of IPMAT, it's important to understand the exam pattern, which consists of three sections: Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning. To clear the sectional cut-off, you need to score well in each section. Identify your strong areas among the three sections and focus on improving your performance in those areas. Manage your time effectively during the exam, allocating time for each section based on your strengths and weaknesses. Regularly practice questions from each section to improve your skills and speed. Stay calm and confident during the exam, and analyze your performance after taking practice tests to identify your weak areas and work on improving them. Finally, if you're struggling with any section, seek guidance from teachers, mentors, or coaching institutes to get tips and support to improve your performance.

Q:   What is the expected IPMAT cutoff?

A:

Refer to the table below to know the category-wise IPMAT 2024 expected cutoff:

Q:   What is the marking scheme of IPMAT?

A:

IPMAT has a total of 120 questions. The Quantitative Aptitude section (part 1 and 2) carry 100 marks each and the Verbal Ability section carries 200 marks. For each correct attempt, four marks are awarded and one mark is deducted for an incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of IPMAT is 400. Sectional marking scheme for IPMAT is given below:

Verbal Ability:

  • Number of questions: 50 questions
  • Total marks: 200

Quantitative Aptitude (multiple-choice questions):

  • Number of questions: 25
  • Total marks: 100

Quantitative Aptitude (short answer type questions):

  • Number of questions: 25
  • Total marks: 100

Since IPMAT has negative marking scheme, candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly. If they are not sure of the correct answer, they should leave the question instead of taking a chance.

Q:   What percentage do we need in IPMAT to get admission in Nirma University of Management?

A:

Nirma University is one of the top colleges accepting IPMAT scores. The University of Management generally requires candidates to have competitive scores in IPMAT for admission to their integrated BBA programme. While the exact percentage cut-off can vary each year based on the applicant pool and the difficulty level of the exam, typically, a good percentile rank in IPMAT (around 90-95 percentile or higher) increases your chances of getting shortlisted for the next rounds, such as personal interviews and group discussions.

Q:   Is the IPMAT cut-off the same for IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak?

A:

No, the IPMAT cut-offs for IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak are not the same. Both institutes conduct their own versions of the IPMAT and have separate admission criteria, leading to different cut-offs. The factors influencing the cut-offs include the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, the number of available seats, and the overall performance of the candidates in each test.

Q:   Which factors can influence the IPMAT cutoff?

A:

Many factors influence the IPMAT cutoff scores, which determine the minimum passing marks for the students who appeared for the IPMAT Indore exam. These factors include:

  • Total number of examinees
  • Total number of seats available
  • Reservation criteria
  • Marking scheme
  • The difficulty level of the IPMAT question paper
  • Previous year's cutoff marks

Factors Determining IPMAT Cutoff 2024

The following factors are taken into consideration when deciding the IPMAT cutoff 2024:

  • Total number of students who appeared for the exam
  • Total number of seats available
  • Reservation criteria
  • Marking scheme
  • The difficulty level of the IPMAT 2024 question paper
  • Previous year's cutoff marks
  • Average and lowest marks obtained by the candidates in the exam
  • Candidate's performance in the exam

Q:   Is there any sectional cut-off in IPMAT?

A:

Yes, the IPMAT exam has sectional cut-offs. This means candidates need to achieve a minimum score in each section of the exam to qualify for the next stage of the selection process. The sectional cut-offs ensure that candidates have a balanced skill set across all areas tested in the exam.

The sections generally include:

  1. Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Questions)
  2. Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Questions)
  3. Verbal Ability

Each section has its own cut-off, which varies every year based on the difficulty level of the exam and the overall performance of the candidates. It's important to prepare well for all sections to meet these sectional cut-offs.

Q:   Does meeting the IPMAT cut-off guarantee admission?

A:

Meeting the cut-off does not guarantee admission. It qualifies candidates for the next stage of the selection process, which includes Personal Interview and may also include other criteria of the participating institutes. Candidates will be eligible to take admission to their preferred institute only after final merit list is released by IIM Indore and the candidates have cleared all the rounds of the selection process.

IPMAT 2024: Composite Score Calculation

Given below are the steps on how the composite score for IPMAT 2024 exam will be calculated:

  • Quantitative Section(MCQ) Section Scores:

25 X (candidate's score - Minimum score)

      (Maximum score - Minimum score)

  • Quantitative Section(SA) Section Scores:

    25 X (candidate's score - Minimum score)

          (Maximum score - Minimum score)

  • Verbal Ability Section Scores:

    50 X (candidate's score - Minimum score)

          (Maximum score - Minimum score)

Note: Maximum and minimum scores are the highest and lowest scores obtained in respective sections by the students from the eligible pool. The total score of the candidates in the exam will be the sum of the scores obtained in all three sections.

FAQs on IPMAT Cutoff

Check out the table below to know the FAQs on IPMAT cutoff

Q:   I have 59% marks in 10th and 73% in 12th. Can I give IPMAT exam?

A:
IPMAT Indore admission - Unfortunately NO! If you look at the IIM Indore brochure, the eligibility clearly states that you must have scored 60% in class 10 to be eligible to apply to IPMAT Indore. IIM Ranchi admission - Again if you belong to the general category, the answer is NO! However, a relaxation of 5% is applicable for SC/ST/PwD candidates for class 10. IIM Rohtak admission - If you belong to the SC, ST and PwD categories, you can apply with a minimum of 55% in class 10. Other category students must score a minimum of 60% marks.

Q:   Does the admission fee for IPMAT includes all Iims?

A:

No, the admission fee for all the IIMs is different. Once the candidates clear the IPMAT exam, they will be allotted the colleges based on their rank and scores obtained in the IPMAT exam. The fee of IIM Indore is INR 35 Lacs and that for IIM Rohtak is INR 17.66 lakh.

Q:   Is IPMAT IIM Indore better than IIM Rohtak's IPMAT?

A:

IPMAT and IPM Aptitude Test (IIM Rohtak) have similar syllabus but the difficulty level is different. Both exams have Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability sections. However, IIM Rohtak's IPMAT exam has an additional section- Logical Reasoning. While IPM Aptitude Test is an easy exam, IIM Indore's IPMAT is moderately tough but to say which is better totally depends upon the college a candidate is targeting for the five-year integrated programme. The participating colleges for both exams are different. If a candidate's dream college accepts IPMAT score, then they should appear for IPMAT exam. The IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore is accepted by other institutes such as IIFT, IIM Ranchi, Nirma University,  Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies and NALSAR University of Law. The benefit of IPMAT by IIM Indore is that the exam is accepted by multiple top management insitutes in country, whereas the one conducted by IIM Rohtak is only accepted by IIM Rohtak.
