How to Select UGAT Test Centre?
UGAT exam centres are well maintained exam halls, where teh candidates will be required to take the exam on the scheduled date. There are various exam centres in 20 cities across India for UGAT exam 2026. The number of applicants in UGAT exam is between 10,000 and 12,000 every year. UGAT Exam Centre 2026: Important Points
- Details regarding test city and centre will be available on the UGAT admit card 2026:
- Entry to UGAT exam centres will only be allowed to candidates carrying UGAT admit card and a photo ID proof
- AIMA will not entertain any plea regarding change in the examination centre after the release of the UGAT admit card
- AIMA reserves the right to change the centre for UGAT exam
UGAT 2026 Test Centre: Dos and Don’ts
Candidates will have to undergo an elaborate verification process before entering UGAT test centres. Candidates should plan their journey are advised to reach the test centre at least an hour before the exam We have listed down a few dos and don’ts, candidates need to follow at their UGAT exam centre.
Dos
- Carry a hard copy of UGAT admit card along with a Photo-Id proof (in original) to the exam centre
- Reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the reporting time
- Affix the same photograph on admit card which was uploaded in the UGAT 2026 application form
- Follow the due process at the time of verification before entry to the exam hall
- Read all the instructions carefully before writing the UGAT 2026 exam
Don’ts
- Do not carry electronic devices such as calculators, mobile phones, pagers, etc. to the exam centre
- Eatables are prohibited inside the examination hall
- Refrain from carrying any item that may be in violation of examination rules
- Candidates not following the guidelines will be barred from taking the test

No, the UGAT exam cannot be given remotely. Every year the UGAT exam is conducted in the paper-based test mode. In 2021, the exam was however conducted in the internet-based test mode because of the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since, the UGAT exam has always been conducted in the paper-based test mode (CBT). To take the exam, candidates have to visit the UGAT exam centre and take the exam offline. They can choose upto five preferred UGAT test cities during the UGAT exam registration. Candidates must reach the test centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam in order to avoid any hassle on the exam and complete the frisking formalities at the exam GATE smoothly.
Candidates can choose upto five UGAT test cities according to their preference. Candidates must very carefully select the cities as once the UGAT application form is submitted, they can't change city preference. They should choose the first city of preference as their hometome or where they are residing as the exam authorities will likely allot the test centres to candidates in their first city of preference. Candidates are allotted a test centre in second or third preference only if the seats have been filled or the exam centre has been cancelled at that location. Candidates should know that the UGAT test cities cannot be changed once the form is submitted even during the form correction window.
