IPMAT 2026 Exam Date (OUT): Get IIM Indore IPMAT Application & Exam Dates

IIM Indore announced the IPMAT dates and schedule. The IPMAT 2026 exam will be conducted on May 4, 2026. The registrations for IPMAT 2026 will likely begin in the second week of February 2026. 

The IPMAT admission process is completely online and the schedule will also be announced online on the official website. The IPMAT 2026 exam will be conducted in one shift only (afternoon shift) like every year. The schedule along with the exam timings and duration will be announced soon by IIM Indore in a detailed notification for the IPMAT exam. 

The eligibility criteria for IPMAT is as follows:

1. Applicants belonging to the General or NC OBC category must not be more than 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, at the time of filling the IPMAT application form 2026. The age should not be more than 22 years as of July 31, 2026, for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, PwD (DA) categories. Candidates belonging to the Foreign Nationals category must have been born on or after August 1, 2006. 

2. Candidates must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board or institution. 

3. General and Non-Creamy Other Backwards Classes (NC-OBC) category candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Class 10 and Class 12 standard examinations. For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories, a minimum of 55% aggregate marks is required.

No, IPMAT is conducted only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The IPMAT exam is being conducted in the CBT (computer-based test) mode. Based on the IPM Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to integrated management programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Managment, Indore. The exam will only be conducted in the computer-based test mode for all the sessions across various cities. The medium of IPMAT question paper is English. The structure of the IPMAT exam has not changed from the past few years. The latest IPMAT question paper structure is as follows:

• The IPMAT exam will be conducted in the computer-based test. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours).
• The exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Short-Form Questions carrying four marks each.
• The questions are from two different sections, namely Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. The QA section is divided into two parts.
• There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer. The total marks for the exam are 100.

The detailed section-wise exam pattern is as follows:

1. Verbal Ability: This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 50 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc.
2. Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's Quantitative Aptitude. It consists of 25 MCQs and 25 short-form answers. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra Geometry, Trigonometry etc.

IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Indore, for admission to integrated MBA programme offered by the institute. The exam pattern for IPMAT is as follows: 

Section 1: Verbal Ability: This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 50 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc.

Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's quantitative skills. It consists of 25 MCQs and the second part of this section carries 25 short answer type questions. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded four marks each and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the overall score. This means, if the candidate has got ten correct answers, then, he/she will be awarded 40 marks in the total score. The IPMAT question paper has sectional timing of 40 minutes per section which the students must adhere to.

No, IPMAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIM Indore only once annually. IPMAT Rohtak is also conducted only once by IIM Rohtak. Yes, there is maximum age limit to appear for the IPMAT exam. The students appearing for the IPMAT exam must be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, 2024. The IPMAT exam is open to students who have recently passed Class 12 or are still awating the Class 12 results. IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore and is accepted by some of the top institutes such as IIM Indore, IIFT, Nirma University, IIM Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR and NALSAR University. Any candidate who has scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of the General and NC-OBC categories is eligible to apply for the IPMAT exam.
