IPMAT exam eligibility criteria 2026 are the requirements to be fulfilled by the candidates in order to appear for the Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore). The eligibility criteria is prescribed by IIM Indore. The IIM Indore IPMAT eligibility criteria is considered by all colleges which accept IPMAT 2026 scores. IPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Applicants must fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria in order to appear for the IPMAT Indore 2026 exam:

  • Applicants should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent CGPA in the case of the General and NC OBC categories.
  • Applicants belonging to SC, ST or PwD (DA) categories must have secured at least 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in Class 10 and Class 12.
  • Applicants must have passed the qualifying exam in the years 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026.
  • Applicants in the final year of Class 12 or awaiting the results are also eligible to apply provisionally.

State Wise Eligibility Criteria for General and NC/OBC category

  • Applicants applying for the IPMAT exam should have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 or the overall score of SAT should be 1600 out of 2400.

State Wise Eligibility Criteria for SC, ST and PWD/DA category

  • Applicants applying for the exam should have obtained a minimum of 55% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 or the overall score of SAT should be 1475 out of 2400.

IPMAT Indore Eligibility Criteria for International Applicants

  • Applicants must have passed the qualifying exam in the years 2024, 2025, or be appearing in 2026.
  • Applicant must have secured at least 1300 out of 1600 in SAT from November 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026.

Q:   Can I appear for IPMAT more than once?
A: 

No, IPMAT is conducted only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The IPMAT exam is being conducted in the CBT (computer-based test) mode. Based on the IPM Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to integrated management programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Managment, Indore. The exam will only be conducted in the computer-based test mode for all the sessions across various cities. The difficulty level of the IPMAT exam is usually moderate and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the IPMAT exam need to apply on the official website of IIM Indore and fill out the IPMAT application form once the application window opens. IPMAT is held in about 28 test cities across the country, and the students need to visit the exam centre in order to take the exam.

Q:   Can a 17 year old give the IPMAT exam?
A: 

Yes, a 17 year old can give the IPMAT exam. The maximum age limit to be eligible to appear for the IPMAT Indore exam is 20 years as on July 31, of the given year. There is a relaxation in the age limit for the reserved category students. The candidates belonging to the General or NC-OBC category must be a maximum of 20 years and the students belonging to other reserved categories can be a maximum of 22 years in the admission year. 

Including this, the students should also fulfil the academic IPMAT eligibility criteria to be able to take the IPMAT exam and IPM Admissions. 

Q:   What to do if I do not get shortlisted for the IPMAT Indore PI round?
A: 

Even if the candidate clears the sectional and overall cutoff in IPMAT exam but does not get shortlisted for the PI round, it means that the candidate is eligible but not among the top-ranked candidates based on the composite score. Such a candidate will not be considered for admission to the IPM programme.

Such candidates can opt for reappearing for the exam next year, as there is no provision of re-evaluation. Candidates can also consider applying to other institutes which accept IPMAT Indore scores, such as NIRMA University, TAPMI, etc. 

IPMAT Age Limit

Mentioned below is the age limit that applicants must adhere to when appearing for the IPMAT exam 2026:

  • Applicants belonging to the General or NC OBC category must not be more than 20 years of age as of July 31, 2026, at the time of filling out the IPMAT application form 2026.
  • The age should not be more than 22 years as of July 31, 2026, for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, PwD (DA) categories.
  • Candidates belonging to the Foreign Nationals category must have been born on or after August 1, 2006.

IPMAT Eligibility Criteria: Important Points to Remember

Read below about some of the important points to remember regarding IPMAT eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates in the final year of the qualifying exam or awaiting the results can apply provisionally for IPMAT 2026.
  • Candidates need to produce Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets along with a school-leaving certificate at the time of admission.
  • The percentage obtained will be calculated on the aggregate of all subjects mentioned in the mark sheet.
  • If the candidates are awarded grades or CGPA, then the grade/CGPA will be converted into a percentage based on the procedure certified by the competent authority.
  • Applicants pursuing Class 10 and/or Class 12 from international schools affiliated with foreign boards can also apply.
