The curriculum and faculty is great, but the infrastructure and placement cell needs improvement.

Placements: Asutosh College does not have an independent placement cell. However, sometimes the college organizes a few job fests or fairs, in which a few companies visit and hire a handful of candidates. But you need to have a good CGPA. You can expect a salary between 2 to 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: Asutosh College campus is one of the oldest campuses of Kolkata. The building is very old and furnished. Although the management is trying to improve the infrastructure, it still has a very long way to go. The classrooms are decent but a bit small. We do not have a hostel in our college.

Faculty: The course curriculum is the only thing that attracts into our college, and it is actually really good. All the important topics are included in the curriculum which makes the students industry-ready as well. The teachers are also good and well qualified. The semester exams are not that hard but are sometimes tricky. So you need to study properly.

Not a very good college, it needs a lot of improvements.

Placements: Our college does not have an active placement cell. There is a dedicated team that helps us find any possible opportunities currently available in the market. However, those are not very helpful, and students have to look for placements off-campus in most cases.

Infrastructure: The building of our college is very old. However, the infrastructure is getting better day by day, and the conditions are much better now. But the classrooms are very small compared to the number of students. A few sports facilities are also available in our college.

Faculty: Course syllabus and curriculum are good enough. The teachers are well-qualified and are good at teaching, except a few. We have semester exams and some monthly exams as well, but those are not very tough. If you study year-round and follow the classes, you can easily score well.

Candidate must have aggregate 50%, Chemistry: 45%, Passed in Mathematics and Physics. Candidates who has passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination is eligible to apply provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education /Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks.
