Yes, Chennai Institute of Technology accepts the scores of GATE / CEETA PG exam for admission to the two-year ME programme at the college campus. Chennai Institute of Technology offers full-time two-year ME programmes across five specialisations. Candidates, to be eligible, are required to have completed their UG degree in relevant field with 50% aggregate for General category students and with a minimum of 40% aggregate for reserved category students.

Chennai Institute of Technology provides admission to BE and BTech on the basis of TNEA scores. Among the General AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 3537 and 18646. Therefore, it is possible to get admisison to the college at 15000 rank. However, the choice of specialisation would depend on the cutoff rank of that particular specialisation. At 15000 rank, admission to a few specialisations is possible such as BE in Mechanical Engineering and BE in Civil Engineering. 

Candidates willing to pursue BTech at CIT need to appear for TNEA counselling to be eligible. The TNEA application form is released in online mode only and eligible candidates can register for the online state-level counselling at tneaonline.org. Apart from the online application form available on the website, candidates can also visit the TNEA Facilitation Centers (TFC) established in selected cities and fill out the application form. Step 1: Registration: Provide the details asked and register for counselling.

Step 2: Login: Candidates who register successfully are issued login details that include a username and password.

Step 3: Fill out the online application form: Candidates have to complete the online application form which has seven parts. One part of them is the application fee payment.

Step 4: Preview and submit the online form: Candidates can preview the form carefully once before final submission.

Step 5: Download the online form: The online form can be downloaded after the final submission. Candidates must keep the downloaded copy with them. It is not meant to be sent to the authorities.

Spread over four semesters, admission to the ME course offered by Chennai Institute of Technology is subject to GATE / CEETA PG followed by Single Window Counseling through Common Engineering Admission Procedure (CEAP-2023). Candidates willing to pursue M.Tech at CIT need to appear for CEETA PG exam followed by counselling to be eligible. The CEETA PG application form can be submitted only after the application fee is submitted.
