It is one of the best colleges in Tamil Nadu with top rankings and placements.

Placements: The college provides good placement opportunities. Many foreign and reputed companies visit our campus frequently. The placement cell (CDC) conducts training programs and mock interviews to help us prepare for recruitment and placement interviews.

Infrastructure: The college provides good infrastructure with advanced labs. Classrooms are spacious and fully air-conditioned. There is a high-speed internet connection across the campus. There are four individual nine-floor AC hostels with all amenities. A medical centre is also available inside the college.

Faculty: Faculty members in my department are very friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. Most professors have good teaching experience. Semester exams are moderate and easy to pass. The curriculum is relevant and includes subjects that help students gain industry knowledge and technical skills. The course focuses mainly on practical learning.

Good college offering great placement opportunities and a vibrant ecosystem.

Placements: Our college offers good placement opportunities and consistently maintains rates above 95 percent every year. The Career Development Center is very active and continuously arranges workshops weekly aptitude tests and mock interviews to prepare us for top companies. The campus is good comprising numerous classrooms and labs with good Wi-Fi connectivity. Our department has labs with smart boards and updated software for my course. Bus routes are available for day scholars with the majority of the buses being air conditioned.

Student life at CIT Chennai.

Placements: I am a Cybersecurity student at CIT, and our seniors are the first batch from this course. Placements are excellent, with around 90 percent of students already placed in well-reputed companies. The highest package offered is 60 LPA, and the lowest in core cybersecurity roles is around 8 LPA. Overall, placements for the first batch are very promising and show great scope in the coming years.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure at CIT Chennai is quite good. It has well equipped labs, smart classrooms, and campus-wide Wi-Fi. Hostel facilities are comfortable. It has decent rooms and regular maintenance. The food in the mess is decent. Though it could have more variety. The college has modern infrastructure suitable for both academics and student life.

Faculty: Faculty at CIT Chennai is knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive. The teaching quality is good. Classes always include practical sessions. The curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented. A few subjects could be updated further to match current trends.

My Journey in Cybersecurity at Chennai Institute of Technology.

Placements: I am currently pursuing my B.E. Computer Science Engineering (Cyber Security) at Chennai Institute of Technology, Chennai. The Placement Cell is very active and continuously arranges workshops, weekly aptitude tests, and mock interviews to prepare us for top companies.

Infrastructure: Our department has labs with smart boards and updated software for my course. When it comes to hostel facilities, rooms are clean, spacious. They have many basic facilities like Wi-Fi, study tables, etc. The mess food is decent with both veg and non-veg.

Faculty: Faculty members at CIT are well qualified and very supportive. Most of them hold PG or Doctoral degrees and are always approachable for clarifying doubts. As for examinations, CIT follows a system that includes internal tests, assignments, lab work, and end-of-semester exams.

Other: I chose this because I have always been fascinated by how technology works behind the scenes and how digital footprints work. It allows me to learn how to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats.

A great place to start our career.

Placements: About 97 percent of the students have been placed in the previous batch. Already 1/4th of the students have been placed in the current batch when we are in our 6th semester, which creates a great projectile for the students and allows us to learn more.

Infrastructure: The college offers a good hostel environment with a 24/7 water supply and air-conditioned rooms. The wardens are present 24/7 to provide security. A hospital facility is available for any medical emergency. There is a lot of greenery on campus which freshens the mind. Special coaching is provided to the hostelers.

Faculty: Almost 90 percent of our faculty members have done their Ph.D. holders and are actively looking for ways to improve their knowledge. They push and encourage us to improve our skills. Special coaching is available and they provide practical learning for the students. The curriculum allows us to integrate academics and training.

Other: I chose this course because I was fascinated with the amount of technology and innovation involved in CyberSecurity. This provides a great opportunity to upgrade and work towards innovation and knowledge.

Placements: Almost every year, 95-97% of the students get placed. The packages range between 6-52 LPA with the highest growing every time a student bags another great offer.

Infrastructure: CIT offers a well-rounded learning experience with courses that are apt for current trends. The hostel facilities are comfortable and well maintained, and rooms are spacious with different sharing options that suit our personal preferences.

Faculty: The students undergo a university preparatory class before our end-semester exams which helps make our CGPA higher. The exams are also designed to test our conceptual understanding and practical knowledge. The assessment involves IAS lab evaluation and end-semester exams.

Absolutely recommended for the placement.

Placements: Most of the time, the placements are good, and they start the training in the third year itself. They provide time to do internships from the first year itself, and software development roles are provided if you really want to get into the role of a software development engineer.

Infrastructure: Most of the facilities are good, but the population in college has drastically increased in the past few years. The number of intakes was higher in 2024; the number of students doubled. In the lab, the Wi-Fi is good. In classrooms, the Wi-Fi can be slow if more people are connected to it. Hostels are good, food is not good. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it can be not good; it differs. Sports are not that good.

Faculty: Teachers have mostly finished their Ph.D. All the core engineering teachers are good, and some teachers have not updated their technical knowledge. Mostly the teachers are above average. The course curriculum is well-prepared. The semester lasts three months. The exams finish soon, and the syllabus is rushed.

Other: I chose the course because at that time, colleges with cybersecurity courses were very few, and my cousin recently passed out of the college with a placement. I joined the course.

My bachelors degree in Computer Science with cybersecurity.

Placements: The maximum number of students were placed in 2023 placements. Companies like TCS, Deloitte, EY, Amazon and Google hire students from our college regularly. Our college provides both internships and job opportunities to our students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was fabulous. There is a spacious library with both online and offline resources for studying. There is a separate research centre for students involved in searching. There are a variety of foods available in our college canteen and there are vending machines too.

Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and supportive. They encourage us to conduct sports events and symposiums. Our teachers forced us to participate in extracurricular and social activities. Also, they complete our syllabus on time and maintain our attendance records properly.
