Review of College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.
Placements: Around 88.6% of students were placed in our batch. The maximum salary pacakge offered was 6.5 LPA, and the minimum salary package offered was 3.6 LPA. The top recruiting companies were DMT, Vedanta, GMMCO-Caterpillar, and Thriveni earthmovers. In the case of an internship, during the four-year course, students were trained by visiting the leading mining companies like Coal India Ltd, NLC India Ltd, SCCL, Hindustan copper Limited, Vedanta. The students will be offered as getting upon one year experience, they will be posted as assistant manager.
Infrastructure: In this college, an air conditioner was provided in our final year classroom. The classroom was spacy and comfy. The whole institution was provided with 5G Wi-Fi which everyone can access upon successful registration. Department library and also college library were present in which Indian authors to foreign authors books were available. In the case of hostel room and food, I would rate 10 out of 10. In the center of the city, the fee structure for both hostel and food was petite. Another astonishing one was the ground, and It was still felt surreal.
Faculty: The professors making the profession short and sweet was the main feature in this department. Powerpoint presentation and practical demonstration of models provide insightful thoughts of the concepts. Every year, students had to undergo practical training in mines all over India. This idea was to educate the students about the work culture problems encountered and how to solve that.
Other: The fathom level of freedom given to students makes them conduct south India's biggest cultural fest Techofes and Kurukshetra.

Our college is good in terms of a green environment.
Placements: About 70% of the students got placed in top companies like Vedanta, Triveni, Gymco and Tamil Nadu Cements. The role offered by the company is a graduate engineer trainee. There is also scope for IT sectors. Here no one will force you to study, and it is your wish to study.
Infrastructure: Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, RCC and library. Classrooms are good and equipped with a camera and air-conditioning facility. The food served in the canteen is highly hygienic, and the food served in a mess is not so good. Medical facilities are also good with ambulance services. Sports facilities are also encouraged and facilitated.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are highly qualified professionals. They won't teach though no one can ask questions because it is a government college. The teaching quality is too bad in the mining engineering course. It does not make the student ready for the exam and industry. But they teach us for the sake of salary.

Our campus has all facilities developed already and also good in placements.
Placements: On average, nearly 60% of the students got placed in our course. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 8 LPA, the average salary package offered is 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. None of the students got internships. While joining, we would be working as a graduate engineer trainee, and after 1 year, we would be appointed as assistant manager in mines.
Infrastructure: We have good labs, computer rooms and a library. Wi-Fi facilities are available in our department. Hostel accommodation, food in the mess, sports and medical facilities are also good, and they are maintaining everything in a good manner. Our college is encouraging all sports activities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The strength of faculty members in the department is less than required. The course curriculum is relevant, but it only makes students industry-ready for 50%. Some faculty members are great advisors.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is the only college in Tamilnadu to have a mining engineering course. It gives opportunities to students to choose professional elective subjects. Scholarships are offered to students successfully. It is a good college to do extracurricular activities.

It has the best infrastructure and facilities, fine sports facilities and good quality of education.
Placements: Last year, the placement statistics were nearly 100% in our department. Well-known companies like Caterpillar and Vedanta visit here every year, and we are provided with practical training at the end of every year. The salary package offered will range from 8 LPA to 3 LPA. This year companies such as TCL, etc., also visited here for placements. Companies from Tamil Nadu such as India Cements and Ramco Cements also offer placements here.
Infrastructure: There are labs for mineral processing, rock mechanics and computer application. In the hostel, the service is good with free Wi-Fi, water and electricity services with a decent meal. Free medical facilities are also available in the health centre. A paid gym is available.
Faculty: Teachers here were qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students ready to face society and industry. Practical knowledge is more focused, and projects are mostly field-oriented rather than software-oriented. The course curriculum is changed whenever needed.
Other: I chose this course due to the huge number of opportunities available in it. The course focuses more on management rather than just theory. More labs can be built to enhance practical knowledge. As far as non-academic activities are concerned, the entire even semester contains such activities like Techofes, Kurukshetra, etc.

It has a good environment, and it is a pleasant place to study and enjoy.
Placements: There are 28 students in our course. Placements on our campus are very good. They invited many companies for students to get them placed even in this pandemic situation. For our course, recruitment companies are Vedanta, GMMCO, Thriveni, Dalmia, Ramco, and now focusing on Adani and UltraTech.
Infrastructure: Lab facilities are very good on our campus, which is equal to IIT college. Wi-Fi is available for 24 hours. Classrooms are very clean and spacious. The library has a lot of books. The quality and quantity of the food are very good in both the canteen and hostel mess.
Faculty: Our course instructors are very friendly and helpful to students, and they are well-knowledgeable and good. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is completely relevant to the industry. This course provides good knowledge to students and gets them placed in companies.

Overall, it is the best college.
Placements: In the previous batch, 90% of the students got placement offers while completing the final year. The highest salary package offered in our department is 8 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The top recruiting company is Vedanta. Internships in our department are very rare. Students who got top-ranked would go through US internships. Otherwise, all students are compulsory to take placement training. The top role while joining is an assistant engineer.
Infrastructure: Our department classroom maintenance is very good as compared to the infrastructure. Some laboratories are taken in our classroom, like theory classes, due to a lack of laboratory arrangements. Our department only has mineral processing and rock mechanics laboratories, but some equipment in those laboratories also got repaired now. Our staff members teach us efficiently, with that equipment. Non-core laboratory facilities are very good. Library facilities are top-notch. Our department also has a library, but it does not contain most of our department books. Mess food facilities are good after we complained to the executive warden. Hostel, medical and sports facilities are excellent in our college. Water problems may arise in the summer seasons in our hostels. At this low-cost education and hostel, food is provided in our college, which makes me admire. You couldn't find any better college other than our college.
Faculty: Quality and qualification of teachers are good in our college. Our curriculum list is mostly applied to the industry. Still, due to the retirement of senior staff members in the department, the level of education is reduced. The deficiency of staff members is also the major influencing factor for this.
Other: I want to choose a different course in engineering, so I have chosen a mining course. The best thing in our course is senior guides and practical training. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships and EC are above expectations.

It has an amazing college environment with good placements but dissatisfied with lab facilities.
Placements: Every year above 80% of the students get placed. Top companies coming for placements include Vedanta, Ramco Cements, Gymmco, Thriveni, etc. The salary package offered is between 3.5 LPA to 8 LPA. Mining engineering is the only course in which we can start our job career from assistant manager post in almost every company. However, internships are not offered. Only vocational training is provided, which is included in the course.
Infrastructure: The hostel is awesome and hygienic, and the restrooms are cleaned daily. The food in the mess is above average, but in the canteen, it is exceptional. Sports and games are given more importance than most colleges. Medical facilities are available 6 days a week with their own ambulance facility. However, the facilities available in the labs are not that great. Nearly half of the instruments are not in working conditions.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. They are always ready to offer guidance for our career. The course also offers practical training like vocational training along with the course, so the course curriculum makes students ready for the industry. The only thing is students have to take the curriculum seriously.

I am satisfied with the teaching, infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Almost 90% of the students got placed last year. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies of our college are Vedanta Group and Thriveni Earthmovers. In our course, we won't do any internships, but we wait for campus placements. Mines manager is the top role offered here.
Infrastructure: We have rock mechanics, mine environment, computer application labs in our department as well as Wi-Fi connection all over department and 3 classrooms for each year students. Hostels provide unlimited free internet connection and high-quality food.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are well-knowledgeable, and they are masters in this course. They are very kind and experienced, and they have industrial experience as well PhD holders. We have a good course setup, and every year there is practical training in verified mining companies.
Other: I am highly satisfied to join this course, and everything begins with mining. More practical labs should be provided. Our college conducts many cultural programs like well-known Techofes, Kurukshetra and Agni.

Hello Laxmi, yes indeed. But please check about eligiblity conditions on the website of Anna university for mining course. Being hazardous, there were restrictions on girl students for this branch in earlier times.
