B.Tech. in Food Technology - Batch of 2021

Reviewing Food Technology course at Techno Main Saltlake.
Placements: Techno India Food Technology course is the worst among other courses offered here. There is no placements committee. The placements drive is run by only one faculty member. During the covid period, only 10% students got job offers from the college with 2.5 LP average CTC. Your growth is not going to happen at all.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure and lab facilities are very poor and outdated. No practical industry standard labs are there. The college doesn’t provide Wi-Fi facility. The classrooms are not air conditioned. There is a Library to provide all the books necessary for studies. The hostel facility is not available.
Faculty: There are only few old faculty members who are knowledgeable, but most of the faculty members are new and don't have proper industry experience. The course curriculum is outdated and needs more corporate tie-ups for training and industry experience. The student to teacher ratio is around 6:1.
Other: Some suggestion to improve the overall course experience include improvement in ROI because the course fee with the placements statistics is not justifiable. They need to start a student-run placements committee with transparency of data and scenario provided. The lab infrastructure needs to be improved and the college should run more corporate tie-ups for industrial training.

It has friendly teachers, good infrastructure, good facilities, and decent placements in 2023.
Placements: Our batch strength is 54, with only 3 months remaining to end our B.Tech. journey. Till date, 65% of our strength has been placed. Placements are still going on. The highest salary package offered is 7.4 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1.8 LPA. Top recruiters are ITC, Varun Beverage, TCS, LTI, CTS, Ambuja Starch, etc. Almost 90% of students received industrial training at Britannia, BIS, Allied Blenders and Distillers, Keventers, Diamond Beverage, Amul, etc. Roles offered in the food industry are QA trainee, QA manager, QC lab analyst, associate analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: Good labs and facilities are available. We have a QC lab, a food processing lab, a unit operation lab, a renewable lab, and a production lab. Modern machines are available to give you a proper feel for professional industries on a small scale. We have smart classrooms. We have a great library to borrow books when we need them. Hostel facilities aren't provided by the college. The canteen food is good and cheap. We have two playgrounds to play various sports and games during our free time. Medical facilities are also top-notch.
Faculty: Our teachers are Ph.D. holders. They have good experience in the field of teaching. The course curriculum makes us industry-ready. There were a few things that we learned during our industrial training period that were not in the course curriculum. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty. If you like the department, it won't be a problem for you to get 40%, which is the pass percentage.
Other: Engineering is hard. The fest, the community, and the crowd at the college are what keep you moving forward toward the goal.

It is the best college in West Bengal for B.Tech.
Placements: More than 90% of students get placed in the IT stream. The majority of students are taken by recruiting companies such as TCS, etc. There is a lack of placements in core branches as core companies do not come to offer placements. Tech companies recruit students. So all the core stream students must learn to code and sit for tech company placement drive.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. All classrooms are well-maintained and decorated. The library is great and students of all years can get books. Labs are well-maintained and the workshop is very interesting. Medical facilities are very good. Our college has a very good sports club.
Faculty: All faculty members in our college are highly qualified. Most of them hold Ph.D. degrees. They teach very carefully and guide students in the right way. Semester exams' difficulty depends on the students. If students study the MAKAUT syllabus, they can easily pass exams.
Other: I would recommend students not to go for core branches like ECE or EIE but it is better to choose IT branches like CSE or IT.

Good faculty, better placement, infrastructure is really good, and faculty members are friendly.
Placements: More than 95% students got placed last year. The average package is 2-2.4 lakhs per annum. FSSAI may come for recruitment along with many IT companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infotech. Nutrition researcher, food analyst, scientist, food development officer, and food microbiologist are roles offered in the course.
Infrastructure: First of all, facilities and infrastructure are enough and good for providing ideal education. Library and Wi-Fi connection are there with smart classrooms for better learning and understanding the depth of subject. Labs are there for specific subjects. On the other hand, quality of food available in canteen is better. There is ground for playing various type of outdoor games and indoor games, various type of fun activities and events are organized.
Faculty: No doubt, teachers are really helpful. They always make sure that they make students learn from the basic level. They are qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable. Teachers give us the basic knowledge and co relate that subject to industrial purpose. Semester examination are that difficult but they require high thinking skills.

It has good placements after the covid, superb infrastructure, and state of art facilities.
Placements: Nearly about 80% of students were placed. Average package of the course was 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Keventer Agro, Britannia, etc. Nearly about 100% of students got an internship. Top roles include quality analyst, production charge, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available inside the campus. The labs were air-conditioned, classrooms were state of art and the library was superb. This college has no hostel, students can opt for paying guests and flats. The food quality of the paying guests is not up to the mark, so taking a flat instead and cooking your food is a recommendation.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable as well. The quality of education imparted by them was superior to most of the colleges which provide food technology courses. Semester exams were on the moderate side and the pass percentage is usually above 90%.
