Review of titles in Kharagpur.

Placements: Very high percent of students get placed in this course is 88%. The highest package and the lowest package of my course is between 12 Lacs to 4 the year. Top companies are also recruiting my course students. Percent of students internship in big companies like Zebronics and Wipro.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in my department was very super. Wi-Fi, classrooms, and library everything is available. The quality and facility in hostel was very good. Food made in college was not tasty. Medical and sports is available in the college.

Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and knowledgeable. They have good teaching qualities. This course is curriculum relevant, but students are not industry-ready. The semester exam in my college was very difficult. The pass percentage in the exam is 40% in all subjects.

Other: There is no way to improve in this course. Events and campus crowd was so good. Scholarship is available in my college.

IIT Kharagpur is a very good college.

Placements: Almost all the students got placed in our branch. The highest salary package offered in our branch was 64,23,400, whereas the median package was 18,75,000. The primary recruiters are software firms. Nearly 90% of students got internships in various companies. The roles offered are software developer, data analyst, supply chain manager and many more.

Infrastructure: The labs, classrooms, and library are the best. Wi-Fi is a bit problematic sometimes. The hostel has nearly all courts and grounds for volleyball, basketball, badminton, hockey, table tennis, and other indoor games. There is also a gym in the hostel and a music room equipped with nearly all standard instruments. The food here is pretty good, and the institute has a 24X7 hospital.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, highly qualified and knowledgeable in their fields and give all possible opportunities for our career growth. The quality of teaching is perfect. If someone attends all classes, he can get a high CGPA. The course is highly relevant to the industry. Semester exams are easy if you attend all the classes appropriately. Relatively very few people fail in semester exams.

Other: I chose this course due to my interest in this course. The best thing about our course is that it is a mixup of engineering and management. The course is perfectly designed, giving me proper time to explore all fields. The events and fests conducted to give us a wide range of exposure as they are all conducted by student bodies giving us a platform to learn and explore and build connections. The campus is in Kharagpur, so sometimes the connectivity is not that good. The campus is very beautiful and equipped with world-class amenities for the overall development of students.

One of the best institutes in the country to pursue engineering.

Placements: The placements are quite good for higher branches like CSE, ECE, EE, M&C. Most of the students of these departments are recruited by high-paying companies like Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs etc. Placements for other branches like mechanical, industrial, and chemical are quite good, with an average salary of around 25-30 Lacs per annum. Placements for other branches like agriculture and food engineering are somewhat below average.

Infrastructure: The facilities provided in IIT KGP are world class. It is India's largest IIT, with a campus of around 2100 acres. The internet speed is amazing on the campus. LAN facility is available for every student. Labs are also well-equipped with modern gadgets and instruments. Hostel facilities are quite excellent for some new hostels. Food quality is above average. Medical facilities are very poor. The campus has just one hospital. The nearest hospital is around 120km away from the campus.

Faculty: The faculty members are very good. Almost all the professors have very deep knowledge about their subjects. They encourage us to ask doubts in the class. The course curriculum is quite relevant which makes students industry-ready.

Other: Spring fest is the largest social cultural fest of north-east India, hosted by IIT Kharagpur.

Placement statistics are good, extracurriculars and events are the best things about my college.

Placements: According to the data of this year's placement from my department above 80% of the students got placed. The placement from my batch was 100% and from the dual degree batch, it was above 80% considering that all of them did not prepare for the internship as they were looking for a career ahead in research. The minimum package offered was 8 Lacs CTC and the highest is 39 Lacs CTC. The top recruiting companies were Barclays, Fractal Analytics, Accenture Japan, and EXL services. 60% of the students got an internship from our placement cell. The companies are varied it includes GE Digital, ZS Associates, Capital One, Credit Suisse, Citi Bank, Experian, Manthan Software, TCG. The top roles offered were data analytics engineer, machine learning engineer, software developer, financial expert etc.

Infrastructure: Our department has a good Wi-Fi arrangement. One of the labs has been newly formed and it has over 70 computer facilities since most work happens on the computer in our department. The classroom size is a bit small. Sometimes it gets too much crowded when people come in full capacity. The library is very good. It has good books and even the professors are very helpful. The room is okay for a single person. On writing complaints about the problems to get addressed. But still, the condition is not very good but still manageable. The quality of food has improved over the years but still not up to the mark. Some days it is pathetic other days it is good to eat. It is a varied experience. There is one hospital on the campus but doctors are not available most of the times and for severe cases, there is no operation theatre so they have to be admitted to the hospital in Kolkata which is very bad. The doctors just give a lot of medicines and no proper treatment is done by them. The condition of sports and games is quite good. There are several sporting events and different facilities are provided for each sport.

Faculty: The teachers are friendly leaving aside one or two. They are all qualified but the problem is due to lack of faculty staff person who has a major in some other discipline is told to teach a course quite different from his area of interest and that is where the problem arises. The quality of teaching is not that good. One teacher is extremely good but others are just average they just teach, read from PPT, and go. No insights are given by them. The course curriculum is good. It has a course on Operations Research and the algorithms used in those courses are very much related to those used in the industry. There are a few courses which are not relevant at all otherwise the structure is quite good and interesting.

Other: I chose this course because the course curriculum looked very interesting to me and I enjoyed learning about it. The department gives me a chance to explore my field of interest. The best thing about our courses is that it has maths and probability statistics used in the course which is very relevant in the industry. The basic knowledge gets transferred very easily. One thing they could improve is the quality of labs where they could give us more opportunities to learn rather than limiting time upon us. It should give us the time to think about a problem and solve or think of an algorithm to solve it. Campus life is quite good. Lots of societies are there so a plethora of events takes place every day. Anyone interested in anything can join that and learn That is the best part. The connectivity is also there within our hostel where inter hostel competitions are held which brings about unity in the hostel inmates. The time given to explore extracurriculars is quite good. After 5:30 you can do whatever you want.

One of the best college that India possess.

Placements: Placements are excellent in IIT Kharagpur. Mostly, students get placed in core jobs. However, remaining students find no issue in getting placed in non-core jobs. Infact, many chooses non-core options like coding, blockchain, data analytics etc. Internship also has the same scenario.

Infrastructure: IIT-Kharagpur's campus is huge spread across 2100 acres. Classroom are sophisticated as they have projectors and ACs too. Labs are also sophistically equipped. Library is huge with all academic resources available. Hostels are also good. Mess food is fine. Canteens are the best alternative of mess food. Wi-Fi is available across the campus. For sports, you have each and every facility available from coaching to kit.

Faculty: Overall, faculty members are good. Though there are always certain exceptions. Still most of them are inclined towards students. One can reach them and ask for enlightenment on a topic, they will help in general. They all have exceptional academic background so no point of discussion on that. The course curriculum is advanced and updated and in line with global education.

It is one of the best places to study engineering with good skills. There will be no regret.

Placements: Placements in our college are really good for people who have the required skills which are in demand in the industry. The branch does not really matter except for a few core companies. All sorts of roles from consult, marketing, software engineer, etc., were offered. The placement cell is one of the friendliest and professional.

Infrastructure: All classrooms are top-notch with the latest available infrastructure. Labs have the latest equipment required for courses, and new equipment can always be provided if required. Quality of food served depends on the hostel allotted. Infrastructure is upgraded frequently, and more buildings are being converted to disvalue friendly.

Faculty: All professors in our college are hired after passing them through stringent hiring criteria. All professors have a minimum degree of PhD. The quality of teaching is top-notch and one of the best available in the engineering side of education. Students are expected to complete a mandatory 2 months internship to gain industry exposure.

This college is like a heaven for the future engineers.

Placements: As per the student media body of IIT KGP and my talks with the seniors, I came to know that the industrial branch is slowly replacing the electronics and mechanical branch in placements. As India is a service sector, it needs a lot of experienced working force. In this branch, studying is mostly based on practical experiences which create lots of interest in students for working. Generally, the placement percentage is more than 90%, and the average package offered lies between 12-18 lacs per annum. We have our seniors in all the given companies of the world including Microsoft, Google, Jio, Tesla, Texus, Tata, Apple, and Samsung. Along with these, many local companies also recruit candidates with very good packages. Student here also get chance for foreign internships and the stipend offered depends on the overall performance of the student. There is an ERP system in IIT Kharagpur where all the updates about each and every activity are mentioned, and hence the list of internships is also mentioned there. This ERP site is the most active site of IIT KGP.

Infrastructure: The campus is one of the largest campuses in India. IIT Kharagpur is the largest and the oldest campus among all other IITs. We have a central library on the campus which is the largest in all over Asia. Labs are well arranged, and new equipment is purchased regularly. We also have a 3D printer in the industrial department. The facilities provided in classrooms are not less than that of a four-star or five-star hotel. We never have electricity break down, and we have 24*7 water supply and full speed Wi-Fi along with LAN connection in every room. The college has its own medical department which provides free treatment for any problem. Along with studies, we have more than 100 societies for different extracurricular activities. There are three large playgrounds in the campus. Among the three, the smallest one can accomodate 4 football grounds. The food provided on the campus is good. Proper hygiene is maintained, and an unlimited supply of food is offered to the students if required. During my tenure, I didn't face any big problems, but some genuine problems are there. The campus is so large that students have to travel long through personal cycles. We also have a college bus for overcoming this problem.

Faculty: All the professors here have got their PhD degree from some of the renowned colleges of India or abroad also. Along with the professors, we have a lot of teaching assistants working under the guidance of the professors. The professors use advanced teaching methods like projectors and e-books, and they are very helpful in nature.

Other: Asia's second largest cultural fest, Spring Fest and Asia's largest technological fest, Kshitij and inter IIT competitions are held. Along with this, we have NCC and NSS in the campus for the moral development of the students.
