IIT Guwahati Placement Overview 2025
The IIT Guwahati placement report for 2025 has been out on Official website. According to the report, IIT Guwahati recorded a placement rate of 62%. The highest package reached INR 1.25 crore per annum during IIT Guwahati placements. A total of 1,606 students registered out of which 1,001 were placed during IIT Guwahati placement season. The total number of male students registered was 1,270 while the number of female students registered was 336. Out of the total 1001 students placed, 791 were male and 210 were female.
IIT Guwahati has Centre for Career Development. The department has all the placement facilities to support students in each stage of the recruitment process. The placement process at IIT Guwahati includes pre-placement talks, Skill assessment, Group Discussions, technical interviews, face-to-face interviews, etc.

IIT Guwahati Placement Report 2025
The highest package offered during IIT Guwahati placements has dropped from INR 2.05 Crore per annum in 2024 to INR 1.25 Crore per annum in 2025. Placement percentage of registered male and female students remained the same in 2025, which stood at 62%. Earlier, the percentage of registered male students placed in 2024 was 70%, whereas for females it was 68%. The overall placement rate for 2025 stood at 62%, which is slightly lower than the previous year (71%).
A total of 193 PPOs were made during IIT Guwahati placements 2025. Out of total PPOs, 26% were for female students. SDE roles were among the top roles with 45.3% offer distribution. It was followed by Core, Ed-Tech and Design roles with 17.1%, 9.5% and 4.7% offer distribution. The next in line were Finance, Data Science, Consulting and Quant roles with 4.4%, 2%, 1.5% and 1.2% offers. Roles from other sectors contributed to 14.3% offers.

The 2023 placement details are yet to be released. It will be updated here as and when released. According to the placement report 2022, 1,243 students registered for the 2022 placement process. Out of these, 921 students were placed successfully. The overall placement rate in 2022 stood at 74.09%
