A few more updates are as follows:
- The JEE Main 2027 session 1 exam dates are out on the official website for the IIT Indore B.E. / B.Tech admission. The exam will be held on Jan 22,2027 to Jan 24,2027 and Jan 28, 2027 to Jan 30, 2027 respectively.
- Classes for 2026 session at IIT Indore BTech have already commenced. Candidates should check the IIT Indore Admissions portal for any spot round updates regarding remaining vacant seats.
IIT Indore BTech Highlights 2026
IIT Indore BTech is an undergraduate degree programme that lasts four years. To get admission in IIT Indore BTech, students must fulfil the eligibility and seletion requirement. Check below IIT Indore BTech highlights:
Specialisations: The programme is offered across nine specialisations. These specialisations include Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Space Sciences and Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Eligibility: To be eligible, students must pass Class 12 with relevant science subjects with at least 75% aggregate.
Admission: Admission to the IIT Indore BTech course is entrance-based. Candidates must qualify for national-level entrance exams (JEE Main and JEE Advanced) with a valid score, followed by JoSAA Counselling.
Cut off: IIT Indore JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 has been released for Round 5 admission. For BTech, the Round 5 cutoff is 1676 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering to 14267 for B.Tech. in Environmental Economics and Sustainable Engineering.
Placement: As per external sources, a total of 316 students registered for placements out of which 270 students secured placements. IIT Indore offers BTech at UG level for a duration of 4 years. The tuition fee is INR 8 lakh. Candidates who get selected in the selection round are required to pay the fee within the given deadlines.
IIT Indore BTech Fee Refund Policy
For BTech admissions at IIT Indore, fee refunds for seat withdrawal before registration are governed by JoSAA rules. If a candidate is allocated a seat by JoSAA but does not join the Programme/Institute, there will be no refund. The whole amount of fees deposited by the candidate at the Institute will be refunded (other than JoSAA seat acceptance fee) after deducting INR 10,000 as processing charges, if the candidate joins the programme after paying the remaining fee and leaves the Institute on or before the date of registration, and applies for a refund.
Note: As Institute receives the final list of students from JoSAA, who have secured admission, after the last round of admission, no refund of fee shall be allowed in case of withdrawal and only the security amount will be refunded.

IIT Indore BTech Admission and Application Process 2026
The IIT Indore BTech admission process is simple and it is done in online mode. In order to apply for BTech IIT Indore, students are required to apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. The process of application for JEE Main 2026 consists of three steps, i.e., registration, form filling & document uploading, followed by payment of application fees.
JEE Main Registration
To register for JEE Mains 2027 Session 1, candidates must submit their details and create a password. After successful submission, an application number will be generated for logging in and completing the application process.
- Fill the JEE Main application form.
- Upload required documents and images (Candidates must upload a live photograph along with scanned copies of their photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate, and EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD/PwBD certificate, if applicable).
- Candidates must pay the registration fee online via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. The fee depends on the candidate's category and chosen papers. The application fee for boys is INR 1,000 for male Gen/OBC candidates and INR 800 for female candidates for a single paper. SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates pay INR 500.
- After completing the payment, download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

JEE Advanced Registration
The steps involved in applying for JEE Advanced 2026 are given below.
- Authenticate using JEE Main 2026 roll number, password, and security pin.
- Login and fill JEE Advanced 2026 Registration Form.
- Apart from the details, students will also need to upload scanned images of the documents needed like class 10/12 marks sheet and category certificates (if applicable).
- Pay the JEE Advanced 2026 Application Fee.
- After submitting all the details, students must take multiple printouts of the final application form for future requirements

IIT Indore BTech seats are allocated based on performance in the JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. Students must also know that these seats are spread across different specialisations offered under the programme.
IIT Indore Seat Reservation Criteria
IIT Indore follows the standard category-wise seat reservation policy mandated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for all central educational institutions. The reservation percentages are given below:
- Open (Unreserved): 40.5% of the total available seats for all candidates.
- OBC-NCL: 27% of seats reserved for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer).
