Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or Masters degree in Science/Arts or qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE, e.g. AMIE. OBC/EWS: Minimum 60% marks (OR a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale). SC/ST/PwD: Minimum 55% marks (OR a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). For institutes awarding degree based on aggregate marks in all years OR the final two semesters/final year: GE/OBC/EWS requires 60% (or 6.5 CGPA) and SC/ST/PwD requires 55% (or 6.0 CGPA). CGPA will not be converted to percentage if the degree awarding Institute provides marks in CGPA system. Admission is subject to medical fitness and verification of academic transcripts.

B. Tech students graduated/graduating (final semester) from IITs having a CGPA 8.00 or above (out of 10) are eligible for direct admission without having to appear in either GATE. Applicants must qualify in a GATE paper appropriate to the discipline of their qualifying degree; for disciplines without a relevant GATE paper, XE/XL/XH papers are applicable. Applicants must be in good health. Selection of applicants whose results in the qualifying degree examination are yet to be declared will be provisional, subject to the condition that all parts of the examination must be completed in all respects before the date of joining the Institute and the marksheet/certificate as evidence of passing the qualifying examination is to be submitted latest by September 30, 2026.
