IIT Kharagpur curriculum for BSc courses differs for each specialisation. However, some common topics taught in the first year of each specialisations are Mathematics, Programming and Data Structures Tutorial and Laboratory, Electrical Technology, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Engineering Drawing and Computer Graphics, Induction Program and more.
IIT Kharagpur offers BTech (Hons.) in CSE course based on JEE Advanced scores. Among all the courses, CSE remained the most demanded course over the years. To get admission to IIT Kharagpur for BTech(Hons)/BS based on JEE Advanced, candidates must have a valid rank in the exam as per the cutoff list. IIT Kharagpur JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 has concluded with the release of the final round.
The last round cutoff ranks among the General AI category candidates varied between 466 and 19141. Therefore, to get admission to the college irrespective of the course specialisation, candidates must have a rank of 19141 or below if belonging to the General AI category. If the student is interested in top branches such as CSE, then the target must be below 466.
Please note that other categories, rounds, etc., will have different cutoffs accordingly.
If you get a good score in the JEE Main, you would then have to pass the exam of JEE Advanced for admission into IIT Kharagpur. It is through the JoSAA counseling process that admission is granted based on the rank obtained in the JEE Advanced. For MBA or M.Tech or any other postgraduate degrees, you would have to qualify for tests like GATE or CAT.
