The GATE 2026 exam is underway for admission to ME/MTech and PhD courses, with the next sessions scheduled for Feb 14, 2026 and Feb 15, 2026.

- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registrations for session 2 started for IIT Ropar admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The last date to register for the same is Feb 25, 2026. Further, the session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.

IIT Ropar Admission Process 2025
IIT Ropar's admission process includes the application process, selection round, cutoff, merit list, and counseling. The step-wise admission process is given below:
Step 1: IIT Ropar Application Process
Candidates seeking admission at IIT Ropar are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, for BTech, candidates are required to apply for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. Similarly, for the MSc, IIT JAM application form is required to be completed.
Step 2: Selection Rounds
IIT Ropar admits students to BTech courses based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree), and BS courses. Admission to MTech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling. The institute considers IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling for MSc courses. Candidates can check with the admission office for the selection rounds of the rest of the courses.
Step 3: Release of Cutoff list, Counselling & Admission Confirmation
The cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc courses is released by the respective counselling bodies. IIT Ropar will release the course-wise merit list for merit-based courses on its official website. As per the merit list, candidates are called for counselling for seat allotment. Shortlisted candidates must then pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.

As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. IIT Ropar Application Process 2025
For admission to the IIT Ropar courses, students must visit the official site of respective national-level entrance tests conducting bodies & fill out the application form in online mode. Given below is the course-wise accepted entrance exam:

In order to apply for BTech IIT Ropar, students are required to apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. The application process for JEE Main 2025 consists of three steps, i.e., registration, form filling & document uploading, followed by payment of application fees.
- Visit the official website of IIT Ropar (https://www.iitrpr.ac.in/). On its homepage, click on the ‘Admission’ tab and choose ‘PG’ from the drop-down menu.
- Click on ‘Application Procedure’ to proceed further. The online application portal opens up. The admission brochure and course structure PDFs can be downloaded from this page.
- Click on ‘New User Register Here'. Fill the registration form with all the details, including name, email ID, contact number, course preference, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.
- Further, fill in the remaining application form by addressing other details, including guardian info, address of communication, etc. Also, upload a passport-size photograph and signature at this step.
- Pay an application fee in the online mode through SBI payment gateway using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
- Proceed with the second-last step of the application form by filling in the entrance exam, work experience (if any), reference & publications (for PhD applicants), and academic details.
- Conclude the application process by approving the self-declaration and hitting the ‘Submit’ button. Candidates can also download and print the application form for future reference.
