B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
2.8
Nice faculty members, good college.
Placements: Placements are very low for the Mechanical Engineering branch, as the branch isn't NAAC accredited. The first Mechanical batch starts in 2020. Only about 25% of students from this branch get placed. However, top recruiting companies visit our college, like L and T, Sobha Construction, etc.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very small. There is a small canteen and a very small library that lacks quality books. But, there are lots of computer labs, a small internal auditorium, a volleyball court, a ground, and ample parking space for students and faculty members.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and helpful, they are more like friends. The course curriculum is a bit outdated. It is very hard to get pretty good grades in this branch. The KTU 19 scheme is very outdated. Students need to study very hard to get good grades.
Other: I do not have much campus life as the college is very small and the student strength is also low. But, we have our Excel and Veltech Fest happening every year in the month of January.

No campus life but hope that placement is there.
Placements: For mechanical branch, placement is very low. However, it is easier for girls to get placed in this branch. Only about 25% of the students get placed. The highest salary is 10 LPA. The average salary is 4 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiters including Sobha Construction, L&T, etc.
Infrastructure: Our campus is kind of small with only 3 academic blocks. There's Wi-Fi in every corner of the college. We have a small library, an amphitheater, a very small volleyball court, and a huge ground. We also have ample parking spots for both students and faculty members.
Faculty: Teachers are more like friends. They are super chill yet extremely good at teaching their field of interest. The course curriculum is outdated but it has been updated for the upcoming students. Semester exams are a bit difficult. The pass percentage is kind of low.
Other: We have our tech fest Excel, which is a 3 day long fest including Proshow, games, lots of workshops, and tech events.

It is a small campus with better placement.
Placements: MEC offers amazing placement offers. The highest CTC is 52 LPA, the lowest being 4 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. Almost 80% of the students get placed here. However, for the mechanical branch, it's quite low compared to the CS and EC departments. Top recruiting companies include Mu Sigma, redBus, ANSYS, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is very small. We only have 3 academic blocks. The library is very small and lacks many facilities. The college bathroom is below average. Since the campus is very small, it's super easy to interact with students from other branches. We have a small amphitheatre as well as a very small internal auditorium.
Faculty: The teachers in the Mechanical Engineering branch are super chill. Most of the faculty members hold a Ph.D. They have really good knowledge in their field. However, the syllabus of the current batch is very outdated. The 2024 syllabus is updated and far better. Semester exams are moderately difficult, especially for the mechanical branch.
Other: Choosing Mechanical Engineering was a bit of a bad decision. Choose some other branch here. We have Excel as our tech fest.

Nice college life with good and lots of memories and happily satisfied.
Placements: Almost 60% of the people got placed. Placements are excellent which has higher packages like 50 LPA and average is 5 LPA. A lot of internships are also provided. A lot of students got that. There are a lot of top roles like software developer and managing posts.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great, it is not like vast areas. It is a building where all the departments can connect with each other. There is also a gym in the hostel and mess is good. The quality of food is excellent. Similar to academics, sports and games are also pretty good.
Faculty: Speaking about my department it is a good one. Faculty members are great in teaching and also they are good to students. Other than teachers many of them are like friends. Course is pretty interesting and is difficult in the 2nd year. It has a good pass percentage.

The college infrastructure is not good enough. Facilities and placements are very satisfactory.
Placements: 75% of students get placed in my college each year. The highest package offered is 52 LPA and the lowest package is 10 LPA. The average package is 22 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Amazon, Microsoft, LinkedIn, DE Shaw, etc. 60% of students got internships in my course in different companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that good. It has a small area. Wi-Fi is available. 6-7 labs are there. The hostel facilities are good. The mess food is very nice. Medical facilities are not available. Sports and arts are conducted each year, but it does not give that much importance.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not good enough. There is a lot to improve. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams are good. The pass percentage of students is 75%.

It is a small campus, only placement is good.
Placements: MEC Kochi is renowned for its placement. Our college is the best among the top colleges in Kerala to have the most placements. Kudos to the amazing team of the placement cell who work really hard in bringing companies to the college. Our top recruiters include RedBus, L&T, Deloitte, Sobha Construction, etc.
Infrastructure: The college campus only includes three buildings. The third one is under construction. We have a small library and a canteen that can contain only less than 80 people at a time, but it has affordable food. There is no place to hang out in the college. We have a huge ground, an internal auditorium, an external auditorium, and an amphitheatre.
Faculty: Faculty members in Mechanical Engineering are super chill. They are friendly and approachable. Most of them have doctorates and are highly professional. The course curriculum is outdated and has lots of unnecessary stuff in it. Semester exams are difficult, one needs to study hard to score really good marks.
Other: We have one of the best tech fests in Southern India, called Excel, happening every year. It's a 3-day fest having lots of ice-breaking sessions, talk sessions, workshops, and culturals.

Limited space but excellent placements.
Placements: MEC has an excellent placement record. They are very active and one of the most hardworking cells in our college. Our alumni, even though they are graduates, are still part of our placement cell. The highest CTC is 52 lacs per annum, and the average is 8 lacs per annum. Top recruiters in our college are Visa, Key Value, Redbus, and Ansys.
Infrastructure: Our girls' college is brand new. It is not that strict. The curfew is at 9:30 p.m. for senior girls and 7 p.m. for junior girls. Mess facilities are also provided in the hostel. The staff maintains hygiene while serving as well as cooking. We also have two residential staff members in our hostel. The hostel has Wi-Fi facilities and attached bathrooms in every room.
Faculty: The teachers are very highly qualified. They are very supportive. Some of them are strict, while some are very friendly, especially during internal assessments and college fests. The exam curriculum is outdated; it doesn't make the students industry-ready.
Other: Our campus is extremely small. There are only two academic blocks in our college. We have a canteen maintained by Kudumbashree. The library lacks some reference books.

3rd best college in Kerala.
Placements: We have amazing placement in our college. This year the highest package offered was 52 lacs per annum and the lowest was 6 lacs per annum. The average placement offered was 8 lacs per annum. Our main recruiters are Ansys, Redbus, Sobha Construction, etc. Top roles offered are Analyst and engineering trainee.
Infrastructure: We only have two academic blocks in our college. The new one is for mechanical and electrical Engineering students. Most of the classes have digital board. Wifi is free around the campus. Talking about hostel, Men's hostel is very old. To take admission, we need to be at least a minimum distance away from the college; the admission is based on the distance from the college to the home. Rent in men's hostel is very cheap too.
Faculty: Faculties are very professional. They all got their PhD in their field of study. The course curriculum is old and not so relevant at the current scenario. The university definitely need to update the course curriculum. The semester exams are very difficult too. Simply writing the semester exams doesn't make the students industry-ready.
Other: Even though we have a small campus, our tech events are top-notch. We have various clubs, including IEEE, NSS, ASME, IEDC, etc.
