Candidates looking for course admission for BTech course at NIT Calicut must have a valid JEE Main score. Also, students must meet the eligibility criteria set by the college. Students should pass Class 12 with a 75% aggregate.
NIT Calicut offers a two-year MSc course in three specialisations. The full-time PG course is offered in specialisations, including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Admission to all the specialisations is through IIT JAM followed by a counselling round. Aspirants further must meet the eligibility requirements for these courses.

NIT Rourkela offers MBA course in a full-time mode. The course is taught by the Department of Management at the institute. The total seat intake for MBA is 75. There is seat reservation available for MBA at NIT Calicut. As per the selection criteria for this course, the seats are filled based on a valid CAT score. BE/BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in a relevant branch of Engineering is the basic eligibility for M.Tech at NIT Calicut. SC/ST/PwD category candidates need a minimum of 55% aggregate to be eligible for the course. Candidates whose results are awaiting can also take the JEE Main exam. However, such students must have the class 12 pass certificate at the time of admission.
NIT Calicut has a seat intake of 75 for the full-time MSc course offered in three specialisations. The institute reserves 25 seats for each specialisation. In addition, the institute reserves 5% seats for PwD category candidates followed by norms of the Government of India.
NIT Calicut considers the scores of JEE Main (Paper-II) for admission to the BArch course. No other entrance exam is accepted. Candidates shortlisted based on JEE paper-II score are further required to participate in CSAB counselling for the seat allotment process.
The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, opening rank was 17258 and closing rank was 26203.
