BE/BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in a relevant branch of Engineering is the basic eligibility for M.Tech at NIT Calicut. SC/ST/PwD category candidates need a minimum of 55% aggregate to be eligible for the course. Candidates whose results are awaiting can also take the JEE Main exam. However, such students must have the class 12 pass certificate at the time of admission.

For students belonging to the General AI quota, the GATE CCMT Round 1 cutoff scores varied between 351 and 731. For top M.Tech branches like CSE and CSE (Information Security), the cutoff scores stood at 731 and 694, respectively.
