NIT Jamshedpur is a place to fulfill your dream of becoming an engineer and pursue your talent.
Placements: Around 94% students were placed from electrical branch last year. The average package was around 16 LPA. The highest package was 82 LPA. The placements are good because of the good coding culture in our college, our college is ranked 12th in CP31 sheet, and is improving year by year.
Infrastructure: We have an excellent lecture hall, known as DJLHC, which was inaugurated in 2018. We have an excellent hostel for the first year, which has started this year. A new football stadium, a basketball court and a volleyball court are being built on our campus, which will be completed by next year. We have a gym for exercise and a open air theatre for programs.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful to students. The curriculum is modified according to the changing world. For example, we have a soft skill lab which trains us to improve our speaking skills, various labs help to perform experiments and analyze the concepts with much clarity.

NIT Jamshedpur has very good placement, but you have to study.
Placements: Here, every branch has very good placement, including production engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and computer science engineering. Here, the highest package last year was 1.43 crores.
Infrastructure: All the 1st hostels in this college are better than any other NITs, but for the 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year, don't expect more from this college. The mess food is not at all good. You have canteens in your 1st year hostel at night time which open at 6 pm.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful if you're respectful, if not, then be ready to get a backlog in that subject for sure. But you should sit in the first four benches and study from the start. To get good marks and grades in the subjects and ofcourse good SGPA in the semester exams.
Other: You can get many scholarships as NSP, Ekalyan, etc.

NIT Jamshedpur: Best college for placement.
Placements: The best thing about this college is placements. More than 90 percent of the 2023 batch students have been placed. The highest package is 83 LPA by Atlassian. A lot of big companies visit the college, including Tata Steel for core students.
Infrastructure: If we talk about the infrastructure of the college, I would rate it 4 out of 5. Wi-Fi is available, the library has a lot of books, and the labs are good. Classrooms have AC. The only problem I faced is the quality of drinking water. The taste of the water is not good.
Faculty: Faculty members are really well experienced. They are very supportive in studies and also help students after classes. The semester exams are moderate—neither too tough nor too easy. You can get a good CGPA if you study whatever is taught in class.
Other: The best branch here is Electrical Engineering, as the professors are supportive and very helpful. There are a lot of fests.

Life at NIT Jamshedpur! You should take admission or not?
Placements: The placement scenario is good on our campus, though the effect of the recession is also there, especially in the non-core sector. Students are nowadays finding it easier to get jobs in the core sector. The average package of electrical was about 17.5 LPA in 2023, which I suppose will decrease a bit to about 15–16 LPA. And yes, the number of students a single company was used to hire also decreased but the number of companies visiting the campus relatively increased.
Infrastructure: The academic building and the hostel are the main highlights of NIT Jamshedpur. It is too good. The facilities in the hostel are okay. Sometimes the Wi-Fi is not working, and the water issue is also there but very rare. The regular cleaning of the hostel is also not there; sometimes in two weeks, other times once a month and rarely weekly. The academic building is top-notch; it has a water facility, centralized AC, and a smart digital lecture hall. The library and computer centre are also quite good.
Faculty: Not all teachers are good and not all teachers are worse either. One incident I will share. One student was on leave due to his father's death, and upon coming back, the professor argued it was his time to go. You should maintain the attendance even if your father dies; that won't count. Some professors are really nice, too; it depends on your luck if you get to learn from them. Overall, I'll say don't rely on professors for studies.
Other: Urja, Ojas and Culfest are the fests of our college. For the first two years, you'll be enjoying these, dancing and all, but after that, you will barely care.

A good college has good faculty, administration, and facilities.
Placements: Most of the students get placements. The highest package of our branch is 83 lacs per annum, but it was non-core. The lowest package was about 5–6 lacs per annum. And the average is about 16–17 lacs per year. Some of the top companies are Tata, Atlassian, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is excellent. Every room has AC, a projector, a green board, and whiteboards. Some virtual classes are also there. The infrastructure of the hostel is not that good, but it is very comfortable and spacious. New hostels are being built. Mess food is good. Canteen and night canteen facilities are there. Sports and game facilities are also good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They are qualified and very knowledgeable. They make the students ready for the industry. The course curriculum is relevant. The level of exams is moderate, and most of the students get passed. The faculty helps with studies as well as with projects.

Everything about NIT, Jamshedpur.
Placements: So placements is the best thing in NIT Jamshedpur. Around 99% students get placed. The highest package offered is 83 LPA and the average package is 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Atlassian and Deshaw. Around 50 to 60% students got internships in Atlassian, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and almost every necessary facility is available in the college. The labs are good with classrooms having air conditioners. The library has all the basic books available for the courses. In hostel, we have all the facilities but the mess food is okay and not so good. We have a night canteen which is open till 2 AM. Medical facilities are good and we have all the sports facilities available as well.
Faculty: The professors are very good and are highly qualified. All of them have done their Masters and Ph.Ds from NITs and IITs. Course curriculum is old but it is the same in all the NITs. Semesters exams are not that tough if you study the teachers’ notes thoroughly. Many students study one day before the exams and get good marks. 95% students passin the exams.

Truth of NIT Jamshedpur.
Placements: Currently I am pursuing my B.Tech in electrical engineering. In terms of placements, this college stands among the top institutes. In 2023, approximately 98% students got placed. The average package offered was 15 lacs per year and the highest package was 83 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Atlassian, Amazon, Deloitte, LNT and Tata Motors etc. Approximately 85% students got internships in companies like Atlassian, Oracle etc. Top roles offered are that of prompt engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi and air conditioned classrooms are available in the college. Labs are still in the old academic building, so they are not good. The college has a Central Library where enough books are available as per your requirements. Library provides high-speed internet as well. Hostel facility is good having a common room in the hostel where the students can play indoor games and even watch TV. Food quality is decent as per the money charged. The college also provides medical facilities. The hostel facilities include sports and games like volleyball, badminton, chess, table tennis and carrom, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and innovative, they help the students to explore more ideas. But some of the faculty only focuses on completing their syllabus regardless of whether the students learn something or not. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good and practical. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students industry ready. Semester exams are difficult only if you don’t focus in the classrooms or don't follow the professors’ class notes. Almost all the students pass the exams except one or two students.
Other: I chose this course because my rank was not good and I could not opt for Computer Science. But eventually it seemed good to me as I developed interest in this course. In this college, events are held every month. Campus crowd is good and the seniors are very helpful.

Underrated but the best college ever.
Placements: In Electrical Engineering, there is 100 percent placement as of 2022. The highest is 83 LPA, and the lowest is around 6 LPA. The average placement is 12 LPA. The top recruiting company is Tata. The percentage of internships is around 20 percent. This year, many students got placed in the core domain as the recession is still ongoing.
Infrastructure: In hostels, we have Wi-Fi and LAN facilities. Labs are well-equipped, classrooms are spacious, and there is a central library and a computer center where we can work peacefully. The mess food is okay, but we prefer eating at other food hubs like the canteen, Nescafe, and Fruit Hut, where we can chill and enjoy.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. In my branch, professors are helpful, and we score a decent CGPA. There's no tension in that. Yes, there are around 3 labs in every semester, providing practical knowledge. The pass percentage in electrical is 100; no one has failed till now. My personal suggestion is that it is very easy to score 8+, and mine is 8.42.
Other: I chose this course due to a keen interest in Physics and getting into NIT Jamshedpur. The branch is also fulfilling. Improvements are needed in management; they need to be more serious. Culfest is a cultural fest held every month, and Urja sports fest is held in November.

NIT Jamshedpur is a good option with EEE. It has good package around INR 10 lakh per annum and is doing well. Moreover, you have better options with CSE in MANIT Bhopal or in MVNIT, Jaipur.
