Q:   Is NIT Mizoram as good as NIT Kurukshetra?
A:

NIT Mizoram is one of the 10 new NITs set up by Govt. of India under Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2009.The Institute started functioning at Camp Nagpur under the Mentorship of VNIT Nagpur w.e.f July 2010 with 62 students. The Institute, since 2011, is functioning out of Temporary Campus in Aizawl. The Permanent Campus of NIT Mizoram at Lengpui is under preparation. NIT
Mizoram has completed the First Phase of work. Hostels for students are located at a distance from the temporary campus. Buses ply between the hostels and academic buildings.NIT Mizoram is a residential Institution and that all students and research scholars reside in the hostels/halls of residence of the Institute vide Clause 38 (1) of the NITs Statutes. All the students of NIT Mizoram shall be paying seat rent.

NIT Kurukshetra top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Airtel, Hero, Mahindra, Flipkart, Ford, Pepsi, etc., visit our campus for placements.Students also get placed in various non-tech companies like EXL, Axtria, ZS Associates, Brain and Company, BCG, etc.The college provides hostels with LAN, library and fully air-conditioned classrooms. The quality of food served in the mess and canteen is good but can be made better.

So NIT Kurukshetra has an overall rating of 4.0/5 whereas NIT Mizoram has an overall rating of 3.6/5.I suggest the students to get admission in NIT Kurukshetra

NIT is enough. Good placements, and this college is improving time by time.
Placements: This year, the campus selection percentage is 86%, with the highest package at 33 LPA and an average package of 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Infosys, Tata, Wipro, Mahindra, Adani, Vedanta, Deloitte, Ashok Leyland, Juspay, and Larsen and Toubro, and almost 90% of students get internships at top IITs, Microsoft, Central Railway, Airport, and BSI.
Infrastructure: Although we don't have a proper campus, there are different blocks for every branch. The hostel infrastructure is really good, and every morning you get a mountain view. Proper food and security are provided. We have well-equipped labs, a central library, digital classrooms, and reliable internet connection. There are canteens in both the hostel and college, and proper hygiene is maintained. However, sports facilities are not available.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. They teach at an average level, but they are helpful. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are tough, but since the students are NITians, 90% of them pass.
Other: As my branch is ECE, I can get both software and hardware jobs. We have freshers, cultural fest, tech fest, Durga Puja celebration, and Holi celebrations. We also get scholarships. From time to time, some competitions are held. We have a sports fest too. Our college also represents in inter-NIT sports.

How life goes in NIT Mizoram.
Placements: Last year, more than 90 percent of students were placed. Right now, the highest package is 21 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average package is 9 LPA. Our top recruiting companies are Juspay, Vedanta, Adani Wilmar, etc. Many of our students get internships in companies and colleges like BIS, NTPC, NITs, and IITs.
Infrastructure: To be honest, our college doesn't have a campus, but we have proper labs, classrooms, Wi-Fi, and a library. Hostel facilities are good, with good maintenance. Geysers, fans, and beds are provided by the college. The food quality is good, but the taste is average. There is a medical help center that every student can access. Our college also encourages students to participate in sports events like Inter NITs and conducts a sports fest every year.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and teach very good. They are knowledgeable and always ready to clarify our doubts. The course curriculum is relevant to our department, blending Mathematics, Physics, and Material Science very well. Exams in our department are not so difficult, and almost every student is able to pass, except for very few students. Around 90 percent of students pass exams.

Overall, it's a good college to consider if you are not getting other good colleges. Just go for it.
Placements: Placements in civil engineering are quite average. One can crack the placement if one maintains the college CGPA thereby increasing his chances of placement by almost 80 to 100%. About 50-60% of total students got placed in our college in this particular branch. Internship opportunities are good. I would say, almost everyone got it. One of our seniors in the civil branch grabbed a PPO offer of nearly 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Vedanta, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra, KEC, Alstom, and Tech Mahindra.
Infrastructure: NIT Mizoram doesn't have it's permanent campus for now. We do feel its consequences. Different blocks are a bit far away so you have to travel quite changing blocks. This is the major lag of this college. Talking about classrooms, the size is small and not well-equipped even just feels like average sitting there. Labs are good and well-equipped. Professors guide us nicely there. Hostels are average. You will get basic facilities of course. But didn't expect much. The mess is average. We can survive with it. But this is how things are practically.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and well-experienced. They help students very energetically and responsibly. The courses are kept updated always depending on the market trends and requirements. College exams are neither too easy nor that difficult to ace one can crack them if he/she studies sincerely. There are few students who get a back. So you have to be kind and sincere.
Other: You get a scholarship based on caste named OBC NCL. We get less than 1 lacs. There is no tuition fee for SC and ST. For, Gen Ews, it is less than 1 lacs. A good amount of fests are held every year like technical fest, hackathon, cultural fest, freshers party, NCC, debate, painting competition, presentation, idea pitching, etc. In every batch, almost there are 30 to 35 students which are quite less because classrooms are not that big again.
