Closing ranks depend on the category and quota of candidates. For round 1 of NIT Surathkal JEE Main cutoff 2026, the closing rank was 2392 for the general category candidates under the All India quota.

Candidates who discontinue the course after its commencement will not be entitled to receive back any amount. Also, candidates were supposed to report to NITK campus on the dates fixed through DASA counselling process. Not doing so will automatically disqualify the candidates from seeking a refund of their fees.
It is to be noted that the stipulated period of withdrawal is over. Hence, no further withdrawals or fee refunds will be entertained.
Candidates are required to bring the following documents at the time of written examination and/or interview in original for verification for NIT Surathkal course admissions. Furthermore, the candidate have to send the self-attested hard copies with the application form and scan-copy through email:

The NIT Surathkal fees for 4 years BTech is INR 5 lakh for the entire tuition fee. The components of the fees are tuition fee, hostel fee, security deposits, etc. The tuition and hostel fees are to be paid in installments. The rest of the components are required to be paid in different intervals. i.e., once a year or only at the time of admission. The hostel is completely optional. Students who opt for the hostel facility are required to pay the hostel fee; the rest are exempt from the same. The charges of the hostel are inclusive of electricity and water bills. The components of NIT Surathkal fees are subject to increase by 5% every year except tuition and hostel fees.
Fee Refund Policy: Students can get the NIT Surathkal BTech fee refund till the last date of admission. The university deducts INR 1000 as a processing charge and refunds the rest of the fee. Those who cancel their admission after the last date only get caution money refunded.

NIT Surathkal BTech Application Process
Those who want to apply for the course are required to register for JEE Mains first. You have to visit the NTA website and fill out the registration form. The fee of registration is INR 1000 for the general category. After the registration process, students are required to appear for the exam and earn valid marks.
JoSAA Counseling Process
After the result declaration of the JEE Main exam, students are required to apply for the JoSAA counseling process. Students have to register and fill out the choice-filling form. After completing the application, they are required to attend counseling. The special round seat allocation is done by CSAB. There are multiple rounds for seat allocation. Students have to confirm their seat by paying the seat locking fee.
Final admission
