Decent for CSE with good placement scope in the outer but needs improvement.
Placements: Around 60-70 percent of students are placed from the CSE course, it actually depends upon market conditions. Overall, decent placement. I suggest that if you join this college you should work on your skills. The highest package is around 10 LPA-15 LPA, the lowest package is around 3 LPA-5 LPA, and the average is approximately 5 LPA-6 LPA for CSE. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc. Around 70 percent of students got internships in mostly companies like TCS, Wipro, etc. Top roles offered are SDE, system engineer, and web developer.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure for CSE are decent, classrooms are okay, and labs are available but need some improvement. Wi-Fi is really good. The library is good with enough books and study space. Hostel facilities are average, rooms are manageable but not very modern. Mess food is okay, sometimes good, sometimes not. Medical facilities are available but limited. Sports and games are not very well maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful and qualified, some are really knowledgeable but teaching quality is average overall. The course curriculum is relevant, but it does not make you industry-ready, you need to learn extra skills by yourself. Semester exams are not difficult if you study properly. The pass percentage is quite high around 90-95 percent.
Other: I chose CSE because I have an interest in coding and good career opportunities in the IT field. The best thing about this course is the placement opportunities in the IT field. The best things about this course are placement opportunities and scope to grow if you work on your skills. Campus life is okay, there are some fests and events, but not very frequently. The crowd is decent. The connectivity is good as it is near BBSR.

This engineering college is much better than other colleges in Odisha.
Placements: About 70 percent of students get a job or placement. The highest package is about 12 LPA, and the lowest is about 3.5 LPA, taken by students. TCS, Deloitte, Ninja, JSW, asian paints, etc., like many companies, visit our college. The tech company offers more jobs than the core branch.
Infrastructure: Our course is a self-sustainable course. The branch is the best branch of our college, as it takes the highest JEE percentile score. The labs are good, and all computers are working properly. The classrooms are good, but some of the classrooms are not attached to AC. Our hostel is much better, and the mess food is good, but the price is high. There is a separate floor for each year's students.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and talented. The teaching quality is much better and easily understandable. The curriculum is not so large, each subject consists of 3 or 4 modules. The exams are tough as there is strict checking and a vast no. of questions appear.
Other: I chose this course because I like the tech branch, and this line of study helps me in my future, as the future is very much dependent on AI. Our college contains lots of fields, which can be made into a large ground and a mini stadium. There are many fests and a lot of decorations.

Placements: Cisco is the company offering the highest package of 18 LPA. Some of the recruiters that visit campus include PwC, Cisco, Tejas, Argusoft, and TCS. On-campus internship opportunities are provided, and most students complete internships in their 4th year. The minimum package is 3.6 LPA, and the median has been around 8-9 LPA.
Infrastructure: College campus features academic buildings, research centers, a central library, well-equipped labs and classrooms, and also has Wi-Fi access. Students have access to residential facilities and dining halls. The hostel facilities at the college are generally considered decent. The quality of food in the mess is average. Basic medical facilities are available, including an on-campus health center.
Faculty: Teaching staff is well-qualified and knowledgeable. They use engaging methods such as storytelling and presentations to explain topics. The curriculum is appropriate and relevant. If students understand the concepts well, they usually find it easy to pass the exams.

Benifits of choosing OUTR.
Placements: 70% of students got placed in our university. Top recruiters are Tata Steel, Deloitte, IDBI Bank, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, and Amazon. For internships, you have to submit an application, and they will approve for attendance during the internships.
Infrastructure: In 2025, classrooms are top-class. Some of the classrooms are smart and some air-conditioners are also fitted. In hostel, you can only use 1 extra fan with you except for this nothing is allowed. There is a TV in the dining area for entertainment. Water purifier is also installed on each floor of the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. They used to take regular classes. There is also 75% attendance system. Passing marks in each subject are 35. University makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite decent.
Other: Connectivity with major areas in the city is good. University has buses for transportation. There is also an OUTR merit scholarship. Events are arranged every month like sports for example, cricket, football, chess, etc.

Really good colleagues and good faculty members.
Placements: The highest package is 18 LPA offered by Cisco. Top recruiting companies include PwC, Cisco, Tejas, Argusoft, and TCS. Students normally get internships in 4th year. On-campus internships are available in 3rd year but are limited. The lowest package is 3.6 LPA, and the median package varies between 8 LPA - 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, maybe a little hot during summer. Wi-Fi is good in some places, whereas poor network in other places. Mess food is good in the RHR hostel. A badminton indoor court is available. Also, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, kho-kho ground, etc., are there. Net practice is also available for cricket. Hostel seats are limited. New hostels are being built to accommodate more students.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Course curriculum is relevant for industry and government entrance exams like GATE. Students need to practice coding and DSA on their own along with the course to be better industry-ready and grab better opportunities.

Best government engineering college in Odisha 2025.
Placements: Up to 70 percent of students get placed. At our university, the highest package is 88 LPA, offered off-campus. It is offered to a 4th-year student who hacks a company. In campus placement in 2024, the highest package offered is 44 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is improving nowadays in the university. The auditorium and hostels are under construction, and classrooms are being renovated into smart classrooms. The university is Wi-Fi enabled. There are two canteens on campus. Six hostels are available on campus. A library is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and academically oriented, and they also think about practical knowledge. Lab teachers are experienced. Semester examinations are now a little bit tough because the college has become a university in the last three years. The questions are prepared by university teachers, and the copies are also checked by university teachers.
Other: In this university, you can get a scholarship of Rs.10,000 every year irrespective of family income. This merit list is declared as per the secured CGPA score.

It provided absolutely satisfying placements in 2024 at OUTR.
Placements: I am from the computer science branch, so its placements are decent. Top companies like Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Nalco, etc., visit the campus for placements. Internships are available for students in TCS. For internships, attendance is also available. The highest package is 44 LPA and the lowest package is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The colour of buildings are fading now a days. Buildings are in good condition. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Old classrooms are under renovation now. There are a certain number of smart classroom. Labs are in good condition. All devices are in working condition. Now, our university has an auditorium, and construction is almost done. Roads are also reconstructing.
Faculty: All the faculty members are good. They all took classes regularly and are advised to take classes. There is no need to take classes from anywhere. Exams are decent. We have to secure 7.5 CGPA.
Other: I chose this branch because I love coding and software-related work. Also, my brother is on this campus. Fests are good. In some days, Xstray event is coming and we enjoy it a lot. Scholarship is also provided by the university. We get a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 per year. It conducts all type of extracurriculum activities like sports, yoga, NCC, NSS, etc. Clubs like dance, singing, coding and bands are active in campus.

It is a good college but it has an old infrastructure.
Placements: The placement rate for the CSE branch is around 80-85% and in general, for all the branches it is 60-70%. The highest package is 23.05 LPA on campus and the highest package off campus is 42 LPA. The lowest package for CSE is 3.6 LPA but that is only for a few students and the average above the 50th percentile ranges from 8-9 LPA and in general, it ranges from 6-7 LPA. Most companies are service-based and only a few product-based companies visit the college. Top recruiting companies for our course are Accenture, Deloitte, TCS, and MSIL. Students getting internships are around 60%.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is frankly quite old and for the 1st year classrooms are really horrible for the CSE, IT, etc., students. However, new classrooms have been built with AC. It has proper digital infrastructure and decent Wi-Fi is available across the university. The library is vast but we don't get a great place to sit and read on campus. Study rooms seemed really claustrophobic. The food is good for what we pay for mess fees, i.e., Rs. 13,000. Sports fields are available along with indoor courts and many sports clubs and events. There is also a gaming club called Genzarena.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally knowledgeable and helpful. Teaching is decent and we will have no problems getting more than 9 CGPA with their teaching and resources. The course curriculum is similar to other engineering colleges but many outdated subjects are still kept like engineering drawing but no autocad in 1st year. However, we get a lot of opportunities to work with new teachers and learn new skills, so I am thankful to the clubs. Semester exams are quite easy and we can clear them with generally 1 week of effective study. The pass percentage is above 90% at least for the CSE course.
Other: The opportunities are great and give us a lot of stepping stones for the industry. The course curriculum is not very modern and industry-ready. We have to do most of that by ourselves. Events are numerous but small. The crowd is much smaller. The crowd in CSE is generally great because they have all cleared JEE Main with a decent rank and they are serious about their career. Seniors are also very helpful. A great scholarship of Rs. 10,000 is available on the basis of JEE Main rank in the 1st year and on the basis of CGPA from 2nd year onwards.

For ranks related queries you can check out last year cutoff, further CSE is a branch of science that requires a high qualification so this rank may not be qualified for CSE branch , rest you can always check for last year's cutoff.

It is difficult to get with this score. Though you can get IGIT. Getting preferred branches or say good branches is not possible in CET. You can try for IGIT (Government College).
