RGIPT BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2024
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology offers the BTech programme in 14 different specialisations. Some of these specialisations, include BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, BTech in Petroleum Engineering, BTech in Chemical Engineering, BTech in Electronics Engineering, etc. RGIPT BTech admission is entrance-based as the institute accepts the scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains. However, during the preparation of the merit list, preference is given to JEE Advanced qualified candidates.

RGIPT BTech Admission 2024: How to Apply?
RGIPT BTech course admission 2024 is entrance-based as the institute accepts the rank and scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains. Candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme must fill out the application form, appear for an entrance exam and, finally pay the admission fees. Given below is the detailed RGIPT BTech admission process:
STEP 1: RGIPT BTech Application Process 2024
Interested candidates should submit the application form online. Candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu and, Kashmir are exempted from entering the Aadhaar number in the application form. However, during the admission, they have to produce any Government-approved identity proof such Passport/ Ration Card/ Bank Passbook/ Other valid government identity card. Apart from the institute's application form, candidates are also required to fill out the JEE Main application form and JEE Advanced application form. The applicant shall follow the following RGIPT BTech application process:
Step 1.1: Register as a new student and proceed to login
Step 1.2: Pay the non-refundable RGIPT BTech application fees of INR 600 + INR 108 (Taxes) for SC/ ST/ PwD and female category candidates and, INR 1200 + INR 216 (Taxes) for all other candidates.
Step 1.3: Fill in the personal information, address, contact details and, academic qualification details.
Step 1.4: Fill out the JEE (Advanced)/ JEE (Mains) details, bank details and, upload necessary documents.
Step 1.5: Preview and submit the application form.
STEP 2: RGIPT BTech Selection Criteria 2024
Candidates are shortlisted based on the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains scores. During the preparation of the merit list, preference will be given to JEE Advanced qualified candidates and, if seats remain vacant in any of the branch after completion of the seat allotment in regular rounds, then those vacant seats will be filled based on JEE Mains rank.
STEP 3: RGIPT BTech Seat Allotment
The institute declares the final merit list of candidates who are required to appear for the counselling process. The final step of RGIPT admission is to pay the RGIPT BTech fees as mentioned below:

RGIPT BTech Curriculum
RGIPT BTech curriculum is divided into semester-pattern. Hence, the curriculum includes subjects semester-wise and is the amalgamation of Departmental Core, Departmental Elective and, Open Elective courses. Apart from this, students are also required to either go for an industrial visit or are required to make a project. Also Read: JEE Advanced syllabus.

The total seat intake for the BTech programme across various specialisations offered at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology is 610. RGIPT BTech seat reservation policy is as per the Government of India directive. In addition, following the GOI directive and to encourage technical education among the girls, few seats are reserved for female candidates on supernumerary basis over the current strength. The Certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PwD/ EWS must be submitted during the time of admission.
