JEE Advanced 2025 Minimum Marks to Get IIT for SC/ST Category: From the analysis of the JEE 2025 report, it has been noted that the minimum marks in JEE Advanced needed by the SC/ST category candidates to get an IIT lie around 45+ marks out of 360.
In the previous session, the last JEE Advanced rank for the SC category where an IIT seat was allotted was 4170 in the gender-neutral quota, which corresponded to marks between 45 to 46 out of 360. Whereas for the female quota, the last JEE Advanced rank to get an IIT seat for the SC category was 4793, which corresponded to 42 to 43 marks out of 360.
Similarly, the JEE Advanced last rank for the ST category candidates to get an IIT seat was 1766 in the gender-neutral quota, which corresponded to 40 to 41 marks, and the same was 2134 in the female quota, which corresponded to 37 marks.

Hence, it can be said that as of last year, the JEE Advanced minimum marks needed for IIT for the SC category is between 42 to 46 marks and the same for the ST category candidates is between 37 to 41 marks. In 2024, the JEE Advanced minimum marks for SC and ST category candidates in JEE Advanced were the maximum in the past four years.

IIT Admission Criteria After Qualifying JEE Advanced for SC and ST Category Candidates
After qualifying the JEE Advanced exam, there are a few more criteria that the candidates must fulfil to get admission to an IIT via the JoSAA counselling. Check them below:
- The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (class 12 boards) examination.
- Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 65% aggregate marks, if the candidate is from the SC or ST category.

Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list http://www.ncbc.nic.in, https://socialjustice.gov.in and https://ncst.nic.in) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
The five subjects can be Maths, Physics, Chemistry, a language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the highest marks will be considered), and any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks will be considered).
