Candidate should pass in three years Diploma in Mech. / Marine / EEE / ECE with minimum 55% aggregate in final year. The minimum of 50% in English during Class 10 or Diploma. Qualifying in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India is NOT mandatory for Diploma candidates

Medical fitness certificate & Merchant Marine Psychometric Evaluation Test certificate obtained from Directorate General of Shipping approved Medical Officer. A Valid passport is required at the time of admission at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Kanchipuram.

SVCE accepts CET exam scores for BTech and TANCET/CET scores for M.Tech course. Out of the 1,020 total seats for the BTech course, 50% are filled up through Tamil Nadu Government Department of Technical Education Online-counseling. To be noted is that the seats offered by SVCE are filled up within the first few days of counseling with significant-high cut-off marks. The remaining 50% seats are filled through management quota, as per the Govt. norms.

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering admission to BTech is entirely entrance-based. Aspirants must pass Class 12 with minimum 45% aggregate as per the minimum eligiiblity requirements of the course. Further, studenst must qualify for CET, which is conducted by Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. Further, the final seat allotement will be done partly through college level counselling and remaining through Tamil Nadu Government Department of Technical Education Online-counselling. 

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering offers admision to BTech through Lateral Entry. Students are offered direct admission to the second year of the course based on their past academic scores. Candidates must meet the following educational requirements in order to secure a seat to BTech (Lateral Entry) course:

• Pass 3 years Diploma in Mechanical/ Marine/ EEE/ ECE with minimum 55% in the final year
• Obtained minimum 50% aggregate in English in Class 10 or Diploma
• Medical fitness certificate & Merchant Marine Psychometric Evaluation Test certificate
