SMEAT 2025 - Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology will OPEN the SMEAT 2025 application form around the 2nd week of January 2025. The direct link to fill out the SMEAT 2025 application form will be provided here.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria for SMEAT 2025 need to apply before the last date.

The SMEAT 2025 exam will be conducted around the 1st week of April 2025. 

The exam will be administered in a center-based mode and have two parts - Test 1 and Test 2.

Test 1 (T1) is a General Test of Ability, while Test 2 (T2) is a Test of Creative Competencies. Applicants needed to appear in both Test 1 and Test 2.

Each test is 90 minutes and carries 50 marks. 

Test 1 (T1) will be conducted from 8.30 am - 10 am, while Test 2 (T2) will be conducted from 10.15 am - 11.45 am.

Note that the SMEAT 2025 admission is conducted in multiple phases. 

Q:   When will SMEAT 2025 exam be conducted?

A:

The Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology will conduct the SMEAT 2025 exam around the 1st week of April 2025.

The SMEAT entrance exam is conducted in multiple rounds (THREE or more). The candidate has the option to apply in any of the admission rounds.

The application form for SMEAT 2025 is expected to open for Round I tentatively in the 2nd week of January 2025. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may apply.

Q:   What is the SMEAT exam pattern?

A:

The SMEAT exam is conducted in two parts - Test 1 and Test 2. The duration of each test is 90 minutes and carries 50 marks.

What is SMEAT?

Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology conducts the SMEAT exam for admission to its UG and PG courses. The SMEAT exam is conducted in THREE cycles.

The candidate can apply for admission in any of these three cycles. 

The duration of the SMEAT exam is three hours.

Note that while the question paper is different for each cycle, the exam pattern remains the same, including the same number of questions, test duration, and the same marking scheme (total marks), and will be of the same difficulty level.

The scorecard of SMEAT is valid only for the current admission year only. Candidates who have cleared UCEED, CEED, and SAT are eligible for direct admission and aren't required to take the SMEAT exam.

Q:   Is the SMEAT exam easy?

A:

According to students, SMEAT exam is in the range of average, which is neither too easy and nor too tough. The candidate, however, has to know the syllabus and its core subjects thoroughly in order to score well.

Candidates appearing for SMEAT can also appear in other popular private entrance exams like MITID DAT, Pearl Academy, and FDDI AIST.

There are then the top-tier entrance exams like NIFT, NID, and UCEED.

Q:   Will the SMEAT exam be conducted offline or online?

A:

The SMEAT 2025 exam will be conducted in an online mode at 10 cites across India. The exam will be conducted in multiple rounds.

The exam for Round I will be held around the 1st week of April 2025. The application form for the exam will commence somtime in January 2025.

The candidate can select their exam city when filling out the application form.

The results for the Round II of SMEAT 2025 entrance exam will be declared around the 2nd week of June 2025. The results will declared online at the admission portal of the institute. To check their results, candidates need to log in using their candidate credentials.

The SMEAT 2025 exam for Round I will be conducted around the 1st week of April 2025.

Note that the SMEAT 2025 exam will be conducted in multiple rounds. In the previous edition, THREE admission rounds were conducted.

Yes, Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology offer one-year PG Diploma course. The PGDP programme allows the individual to choose among two course offerings, the Bridge and the Finish, each of which have been designed to align to different levels of learning.

Q:   How many times is the SMEAT exam conducted in a year?

A:

SMEAT is a national level entrance exam conducted by the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology. For the current academic session, the entrance exam has three admission rounds. Note that for each round, the application process will be conducted separately. 

The 2nd round of admission process is currently ongoing.

The application form is open from April 6 to May 24, 2024. 

The entrance exam for Round II will be conducted on June 1, 2024.

SMEAT 2025 Application Process

The SMEAT 2025 application form for Round I will open in January 2025.

Note that the SMEAT admission process is conducted in THREE rounds, and, for each round, a separate application process is conducted.

Step-wise process to fill out the SMEAT application form 

Step 1: Fill out the Application Form

Register by entering your name, mobile number, and email ID. After the candidate account is created, log in to fill in the rest of the details. Here you will have to enter academic, personal, and contact details. Also, upload your documents and pay the application fees. 

Step 2: Pay the application fee

Candidates will have to pay an application fee of INR 5,000. The fee has to be paid online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.

Step 3: Download SMEAT Admit Card

Admit cards will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate after the successful completion of the registration process. The admit card will contain the link and the timings of the exam as all the tests of SMEAT will be conducted as a Remote Proctored Computer-based Online Test.

Step 4: Appear for Srishti Entrance and Aptitude Test (SMEAT)

SMEAT is a written examination of three hours duration. The maximum mark candidates can score in the SMEAT exam is 100 marks. Aspirants need to clear the SMEAT written exam to secure admission to design programs offered at Srishti.

Step 5: Check SMEAT Results

Candidates can check their results for SMEAT exam on the official website of Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology by entering their admit card number.

SMEAT Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must ensure they meet the SMEAT 2025 eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Note that all documents will be verified at the time of counseling. If any anomaly is found, the candidate may be disqualified.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Programme

Applicants should have successfully completed any ONE of the following minimum educational qualifications:

  • National and international boards like – CBSE/ISC/IB/AICE/A Level
  • State Board, Junior College, Intermediate, HSSC, PUC, Senior Secondary
  • National Institute of Open Schooling, New Delhi (NIOS)– Senior Secondary
  • NSQF Certification Level 4
  • High School Diploma (USA/Canada) – Senior Secondary completed with equivalence as per AIU
  • State Board of Technical Education – Diploma equivalent to PUC/Class 12

Note: Please note that all awarding bodies must be recognized by state and/or central government institutions. Attach two copies of the relevant certificates.

Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates to apply for UG course admissions at the Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology. However, the official website informs that in case students above 30 years of age want to apply for the UG programs then they are informed that the average age of the class at Srishti is 18 to 25 years. 

Eligibility Criteria for PG Professional Programme

Applicants should have successfully completed any ONE of the following:

  • NSQF Certification Level 8 in the relevant industry sector
  • National and International Universities – 3 year Undergraduate Degree + 1 year Postgraduate Diploma Program (PGDP) from a recognized University
  • National and International Universities – 4 year Undergraduate Degree
  • Professional Institute – 5 year Undergraduate Degree

Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates to apply for PG courses. However, candidates may be informed that the average age of the class at Srishti is 25 to 35 years.

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Arts Programme

Aspirants seeking admission in MA Full Mode, MA Dual Mode as well as PG Diploma courses at Srishti need to fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

  • National and International Universities – Three years Undergraduate Degree
  • National and International Universities – Four-years Undergraduate Degree
  • Design Institutes – Four-years Undergraduate Diploma in Art and/or Design
  • Professional Institutes – Five-years Undergraduate Degree
  • NSQF Certification Level 7 in relevent industry sector

Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates to apply for PG course admissions at Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology. However, the official website informs that in case students above 35 years of age want to apply for the PG programmes then they are informed that the average age of the class at Srishti is 25 to 35 years.

SMEAT 2025 Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology will have to follow the process as under:

Step 1: The Candidate has to first appear in the SMEAT entrance exam.

Step 2: Portfolio Review & Counselling

Candidates will be shortlisted for the portfolio and counseling round based on their performance in the written exam. The mode of conducting the interview round is conversational and the interviewer tries to determine “the suitability of the candidate to the culture and pedagogy of Srishti”, informs the official website.

Step 3: View the Final Merit List

SMEAT Exam 2025 Syllabus

Candidates seeking admission to the design courses at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology need to carefully go through the SMEAT 2025 exam syllabus.

This is because questions in the design entrance exam will be conducted as per the official syllabus only. By conducting the syllabus, the candidate will know the section-wise questions, question type, difficulty level, and much more.

As per the SMEAT syllabus 2025, both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate question papers will include visual and verbal responses, and written and practical exercises, using a range and variety of mediums and media that are appropriate to each level and context. SMEAT Test 1 includes parameters like Analytical Reasoning, Exploration and Persistence, Imagination and Visualisation, Language and Expression, Observation and Curiosity. SMEAT Test 2 includes parameters like Contextual Awareness, Critical Thinking, Imagination and Visualisation, Language and Expression, and Viewpoint and Perspective. SMEAT Exam 2025 Pattern

SMEAT exam pattern 2025 is such that, the design aptitude test will be conducted in three hours duration. Candidates are informed that they do not need to appear for SMEAT exam for UG admissions under the below-mentioned circumstances:

Test 1 (General Test of Ability)
  • Applicants who have taken the UCEED exam can choose to be exempt from test 1 if their All India Rank is 600 or below, provided they can submit this result at the time of application.
  • Applicants who have taken the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) between March 2024 and June 2025 and whose composite score is 1100 or above can choose to be exempt from test 1, provided they can submit this result at the time of application.
Test 2 (Test of Creative Competencies)
  • All applicants are required to undertake Test 2, a studio-based activity test. This test will be based on a given theme or context which will be sent to the applicant after verification of eligibility and other required documents.
  • Applicants are advised to mail hard copies of completed forms with all necessary annexures/attachments at the earliest giving them time for test preparation.
Synchronous Group Discussion
  • A team-based activity and a group/individual counseling session will follow Test 2. The counseling session is conversational in style. All applicants are required to participate in this test.

Note: It is mandatory for all applicants to take Test 1 and 2 unless they are exempt from Test 1 as described above. 

SMEAT Exam Preparation 2025

The candidate needs to follow the following tips to prepare for the SMEAT 2025 exam:

  1. Go through the SMEAT 2025 exam pattern
  2. Follow the updated syllabus and make a study plan accordingly
  3. Take notes during the study
  4. Make sure that you solve enough sample papers.
  5. Closer to the exam, you need to take mock tests. These tests will help you get aligned with the exam and fix last-minute errors.
  6. Work on your sketching and observation skills.

SMEAT Exam 2025 Admit Card

Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology will issue admit cards to all candidates who successfully complete the SMEAT 2025 application process. The admit card will be issued online at the admission portal of the institute - srishtimanipalinstitute.in.

To download the admit card, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the admit card link
  2. A log-in window will open
  3. Fill in your candidate credentials.
  4. On successful login, you can download the SMEAT 2025 admit card.

The SMEAT admit card or hall ticket is a mandatory document that the candidate has to carry with them, along with a valid photo id proof, to the exam venue. Note that no candidate will be allowed inside the exam hall without these documents. 

The admit card will carry information like the date and time of the SMEAT 2025 time, reporting time, document to be carried on exam day, and guidelines to be followed inside the exam venue.

The id proof can be a Driving Licence, Passport, PAN, or Aadhar.
