SMEAT exam pattern 2025 - Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology has released the exam pattern for the SMEAT 2025 exam.

The exam pattern provides insights into the exam mode, question type, marking scheme, and section-wise questions. Candidates by consulting the SMEAT 2025 exam pattern can effectively prepare for the exam.

The SMEAT 2025 will be conducted in THREE rounds. The entrance exam for the 1st round was held on April 19, 2025, for B Des, and between April 02 to April 19, 2025, for M Des. As per the SMEAT exam pattern 2025, the exam will have two parts - Test 1 and Test 2. Test 1 (T1) is a General Test of Ability, while Test 2 (T2) is a Test of Creative Competencies. Applicants needed to appear in both tests. Each test will be 90 minutes long and carry 50 marks. The exam conducting institute reserves the right to make any changes to the exam pattern that it may deem fit. So, the candidate must follow the updated pattern only for exam preparation. The application form for SMEAT 2025 was open for M Des till May 17, 2025.

Q:   Will the SMEAT exam be conducted offline or online?
A: 

SMEAT 2026 is expected to be conducted in an online mode in 10 cities. The exam will be conducted in multiple rounds. 

Q:   When will the results for SMEAT exam (Round 1) be announced?
A: 

SMEAT 2026 entrance exam result for Round 1 will be declared in last week of April 2026. The results will be declared online at admission portal of the institute. To check the results, candidates need to log in using their credentials.

Q:   Does Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology offer Diploma courses through SMEAT exam?
A: 

Yes, Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology offer one-year PG Diploma course. The PGDP programme allows the individual to choose among two course offerings, the Bridge and the Finish, each of which have been designed to align to different levels of learning.

The SMEAT 2025 exam for Round I will be conducted around the 1st week of April 2025. The application form will open in January 2025 (tentative).

According to students, SMEAT exam is in the range of average, which is neither too easy and nor too tough. The candidate, however, has to know the syllabus and its core subjects thoroughly in order to score well.

Candidates appearing for SMEAT can also appear in other popular private entrance exams like MITID DAT, Pearl Academy, and FDDI AIST.

There are then the top-tier entrance exams like NIFT, NID, and UCEED.

SMEAT 2025 - Material Requirements

Candidates must not carry electronic gadgets and any other items that can be used for unfair advantage on exam day. Candidates found carrying such items are disqualified from admission process. Candidates can carry following items inside exam centre:

  • Basic stationery like pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and a 12-inch ruler.
  • Basic art materials such as colored pencils, oil pastels, water/poster colors, brushes, sketch pens, and glue sticks.

Q:   What is the SMEAT exam pattern?
A: 

SMEAT exam is conducted in two parts, Test 1 and Test 2. Both tests are mandatory. The duration of each test is 90 minutes and the total marks are 50 for each test.

SMEAT Exam Pattern 2025

SMEAT Condition
Test 1 (T1)

   This is a General Test of Ability.

  • Applicants who have taken the UCEED 2024 exam can choose to be exempt from Test 1 if their All India Rank is 600 or below, provided they are able to submit this result at the time of application.
  • Applicants who have taken the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) between March 2023 and June 2025 and whose composite score is 1100 or above can choose to be exempt from test 1, provided they are able to submit this result at the time of application.
Test 2 (T2)

This is a Test of Creative Competencies.
All applicants are required to undertake Test 2. 

  • All applicants are required to undertake Test 2, a studio-based activity test. This test will be based on a given theme or context, which will be sent to the applicant after verification of eligibility and other required documents.
  • Applicants are advised to mail hard copies of completed forms with all necessary annexures/attachments at the earliest giving them time for test preparation.
  • It is mandatory for all applicants to take Tests 1 and 2 unless they are exempt from  Test 1.
Synchronous Group Discussion
  • A team-based activity and a group/individual counseling session will follow Test 2.

Q:   What is SMEAT application fee?
A: 

The application fee for SMEAT exam is INR 5,000. Also, for every additonal course, the candidate has to pay another INR 1,000. The fee has to be paid online. In case the application fee isn't paid, the application form will be considered incomplete.

The application form for SMEAT 2025 will open for Round I in January 2025.

Note SMEAT 2025 admission will be conducted in multiple rounds.
