The college is good, with good facilities, awesome teachers and a good environment.
Placements: The placements were average. Many MNC and MSME companies came here. The highest package offered was 7.2 LPA, and the average package was around 4-5 LPA. A few students got low packages. Around 76% of students got internships, and a few got direct jobs from MNCs.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities were good, and the food was good too. Various sports facilities are available. There is also an emergency room for students. Overall, the facilities are good. Rooms are comfortable and quite good in size. There are courts for almost every sport.
Faculty: The teachers are good and kind, except for a few strict teachers. They are highly qualified, and their teaching method is simple. Some teachers are highly educated and super friendly. They taught the whole syllabus nicely and with every minute detail and explanation.
Other: I chose this course because very few students choose chemistry after there 12th board, and there are various opportunities in this field.

I am happy to be part of this college. It provides good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: This college was associated with Internshala, one of the top internship platforms in India. The placements cell of SXC recruits students for working in many brands and companies. They offer opportunities for students to develop and showcase their skills in companies like Hindustan Unilever, Goodricke, Cognizant, PhonePe, Thomas Cook, Godrej, Uber, Videocon, and many others. On the academic front, students can also intern at institutes like IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, and IISER Bhopal to name a few, and also as an educator in academies like the Byju's and Unacademy. The packages typically range from Rs 3,000 per month to Rs 60,000 per month depending on the job.
Infrastructure: In our college, there was a free Wi-Fi internet service for students, accessible by a username and password provided by the college authority upon registration. The laboratories were one of the best, at least compared to the other colleges in Kolkata. The classrooms were large and spacious, had an environment perfectly suited for students to garner refreshment and motivation for academic pursuits. Verstraeten central library at the college offers access to numerous books, and the e-resource section of the library was particularly useful for academic purposes, as it gives access to numerous previous year questions. In the mess and canteen, students were furnished with a good quality of food. The medical facilities were top-notch, and the college had a reputation for being a top competitor in sporting events like football, cricket, hockey, and basketball. There were two large fields, where students can play around to earn refreshments after a long day at the college.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members in the Physics and Mathematics department of our ancillary courses. Based on experience, I feel that the teachers in the college were most skilled, qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching was one of the best, if not the best in business. The course curriculum i.e at least in the courses that I have studied was sufficient for an undergraduate student to cope up with. The semester exams in the college were moderately difficult, but all the students pass the examination. Therefore as far as the syllabus was concerned, greater emphasis was laid on the class contents.
Other: This college was more like a family than a mere batch of students since students share each other's feelings. Studying in this college was a special achievement in itself for every student, given that it was one of the best colleges in India. Getting to interact with the eminent professors, keeping in proximity with the most talented and intellectual minds, working in advanced experimental laboratories as well as the beautiful campus were some of the benefits, which fills a student's mind with happiness, vigor, and passion. Chemistry was a field of science that was central to today's developing world. There was virtually no area in science which do not possess the slightest application of chemistry. Chemistry was a developing science, but SXC had one of the best setups in this field. Throughout the years the college had been host to numerous symposia, which had given students the exposure to interact with researchers from different corners of India and the world. These symposia had even helped students develop their management skills in different areas like event organisation, food and transport, and hall management. On top of these, Xavotsav in January forms one of the most important cultural fests in the Xaverian calendar. The social outreach of the college was also exemplary, as it allows students to work for NGOs like NSS and AICUF, thereby getting valuable experience in teaching and working for underprivileged children in the remote villages of West Bengal. Besides these, due to covid-19, the students were unable to pursue their practical classes, wherein the real flavor of chemistry was expected to lie. This was one of the major challenges that need to be addressed since the impact of covid-19 was strong enough to affect the on-campus education of future students. Supplementing the quality of offline education into online education was the biggest challenge that the college faces now, as far as motivating the students was concerned.

Students who graduated from this college have done wonders in life. Get a chance for yourself too.
Placements: Actually, no one applies for placement right after B.Sc. They pursue M.Sc first. But I have heard that other department students were offered placement. Many renowned companies visit the campus for providing internships to students. You can try your luck if you want to. They inform about the internships beforehand.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite good. The labs were good and had adequate supply of chemicals and solutions. There are more than three Chemistry labs itself. Each lab has its own purpose. The library is quite large and it's in a completely separate building. The library maintains good discipline and silence. There are large collection of books in the library for every genre and department. Classrooms are also big and have blackboard as well as smart boards. The hostel is little far away from the college. It is quite spacious and the faculty strict there. We are provided food three times a day and sometimes they also offer fruits. They provide medical facilities too. They have different clubs too for the entertainment of the students. They conduct hostel fest every year.
Faculty: Teachers are very good at Xavier's. They are helpful and impartial. They will always be there for you in need. You can approach them for any sort of doubts or problems and I can assure you that you will be helped. The course was not too good as I felt. The semester exams are conducted in a very systematic manner. There are 3,4 supervisors present in a single exam hall. They are strict about the timing.

Really good infrastructure and faculty which will definitely boost one's personality.
Placements: As far as the Bachelors in chemistry is concerned, we don't have a campus placement here and because in this field we get a job only after completing the post-graduation. St Xavier's Kolkata does not have Masters in the field of chemistry. The faculty of chemistry department really teach well and give their potential help to students in every possible way. From my batch and my senior batch, many students got admissions into IITs for the master's which will definitely boost their career.
Infrastructure: St Xavier's Kolkata has a really good infrastructure. The labs and classrooms are well maintained. This college offers a really advanced apparatus which is not generally found in other colleges. The canteen is really well maintained with food at reasonable prices. I did not stay in the hostel but had a few friends staying there. They said the hostel was very neat and provided a good environment for studying. The campus has free Wi-Fi at a place called green benches. There is also a cyber room provided which is especially useful for the students living in rented houses.
Faculty: The teachers here are true mentors always ready to help. The quality of teaching is better than the other colleges with more advanced topics in the syllabus. The teachers used to teach using the board or through powerpoint presentations. There were 7 teachers for usually 30 to 35 students.

Other: It's a prestigious institution of India for science and commerce graduate and post graduate level studies with lots of highly qualified faculty members. Campus was clean and tidy with complete discipline. Full of enjoyment in sports and extracurricular activities. Hostel facilities for both boys and girls are also very good and subsidized.

Hi Riya, Congratulations for your marks. One must have 60% in Chemistry to apply for this course. So, you can't apply for this course in SXCKOL. Try some other college, you might get there. All the best.
