Our college provides very good infrastructure.
Placements: Placements provided in our branch are average. Students have to give good efforts to get good placements. Placement percentage is high in branches like CSC, EEE, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good with greenery and many trees. Wi-Fi is available everywhere. Canteen is good. Mess quality is average. Some dishes are good, but some are bad. Students can also study in the library.
Faculty: Some teachers in our college are very good but some are poor. Semester exams are difficult. Students have to study hard to score high marks. Students should maintain 75% attendance to attend examinations. Classes are conducted for more than 4 hours a day.

Good infrastructure but very rigid and bad management.
Placements: 35% are placed and the remaining are yet to get a placement. On an average 8 LPA is the package. Novartis and Vedanta are the top recruiters. All the students get internship in companies like CIL, UCIL and MOIL. PSU's like Coal India Limited are yet to visit the campus.
Infrastructure: VNIT has a beautiful campus of 219 acres. It has pretty impressive infrastructure in the campus. It includes classroom complex, auditorium, laboratories and sprorys facilities. Library and computers are kept up-to-date. Medical centers are also made available in the campus itself.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified enough and most of them are always ready to guide and help whenever a student is in need. Course curriculum is updated regularly but I think it needs to be made more practically applicable as per the requirement of the industry.
Other: Events and other activities are fun.

Disappointed by the changes in the rules for recruiting by T&P, good placement of our Super seniors.
Placements: The placements of our super seniors were pretty good, comparing to that of our senoirs. Due to the privitazation, various mines have reduced their recruitment in the college. The super seniors were fortunate enough to have the advantage of T&P rules and were having the probability of getting paced as 90% to 98%. But the changes made by T&P were not in the favour of students as of I think so. As I am yet to pass the college degree, still hope for the best for our batch. The highest package grabbed by our super seniors was approximately 1.6 million and the average was nearly 0.6 to 0.7. The overall performance of the college was very well good. Also for us 3 vocational Training is compulsory which is provided by the college itself its much helpful for you to get placed in the company. Also various internship programmes are provided by the companies for students in the college. Also some of them offer PPO's (Pre Placement Offer) to the deserved one.
Infrastructure: The facilities are much better than any other colleges in the city. The internet access is nearly 24*7 in the hostels and also in the Computer Center in the working hours, the classrooms are well maintained and equipped with latest teaching facilities and each department is provided with the VIRTUAL CLASSROOM were we used to have the various webinars, online sessions and interaction with the foreign faculty members. Also the health center is much helpful in case of emergency the college has its own ambulance for emergency, the sports facilities are the best I guess.
Faculty: The faculty members of class and also helpful, preety much qualified and knowledgeable. Though u may have to suffer at a particular subject but the overall performance of teaching faculty members is good. Most of them are Ph.D. holders and had qualified from renowned colleges. Teaching quality is much better. Students to faculty ratio varies from department to department in ours its 1:3. Also each student is provide with faculty advisory and also the Mentor which is much helpful. Also other are various IV (Industrial visits) as required also the curriculum has credits on it.
Other: The cultural and technical festival of the college that is AAROHI and AXIS gives the students the exposure the various activities in the college. Also the various committees in the college help to develop the interest in various fields. The campus is surrounded by the Ambazari lake and also the greenery attracts the people in the surrounding as a recreational activities. The college offers scholarships to the needy ones as required.

A student's review on Visvesvaraya National Institute Of Technology.
Placements: Almost the whole of my batch got placed. The placements go on throughout the year. 50% of the students were placed in core profiles and remaining in non-core profiles such as management and IT. The average package offered to my branch was around 5.5LPA. Few students rejected the job offers for further studies.
Infrastructure: NIT Nagpur (VNIT) has one of the best infrastructure facilities in India. They have best-equipped labs, hostels which are being renovated and constructed across a campus that spread in over 200 acres with lush green shades. Good sports facilities are also available.
Faculty: The faculty are very competent. They have good academic and industry experience. There are a lot of visits and training activities too. There is a good proportion of faculty, that is, visiting faculty. The labs are well-equipped with a supportive lab in charge and assistants.

Things you must know before going to VNIT, Nagpur.
Placements: Placement is good in mining engineering. Although, some core companies visit our campus in alternate years like MOIL. Previous year (2017) placement was quite good, around 35 students out of 40 got placement. Although, many students got placement in non-core. The highest package offered last year was 10 LPA, while the lowest was 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: If you talk about infrastructure, VNIT, Nagpur is one of the top-notch government colleges in India. Everything is quite appreciable including hostel facility, mess, canteen, library, ground and tennis court. Badminton court is quite good, and it is very well-maintained all the time. Four more buildings construction has been completed this year, which costs around 300 crores. Government is giving attention to this premier institute.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated and well qualified. Many teachers have completed their post graduation from some top-notch foreign institutes. However, when we talk about teaching methods, it is not top-notch, although the method of teaching is very new. Smart classrooms are there, and teachers use to teach with PPT. I find the conventional method of teaching was better than the new method. Though that is time taking, still the conventional method is very effective. Industry exposure is there. And student to faculty ratio is significantly good.
Other: Axis is the technical festival which is conducted every year. Aarohi is the cultural festival which is also conducted every year. Apart from this department gathering, institute gathering, consortium and many more festivals happen in the college every year. Institute gathering is the largest and the longest event which is of 10 days duration and the best event in the college. Everyone is going to love this event whoever is planning to join this college.

Satisfactory because of average placements, not that good infrastructure with very less facilities.
Placements: Placements in this college are pretty good. CSE department has the highest percentage of placements followed by the ECE and then by the electrical. As of the mining sometimes placements are very good like last year, Coal India Ltd(public sector) gave a package of Rs. 10.5 LPA to six students for the role of the assistant manager out of 32 & also out of 32, at least 27 were placed. Other companies like Vedanta and MOIL also visited our campus. The lowest salary was Rs. 4.5 LPA and the average salary was Rs. 7 to 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good. It has a really good sports complex, cricket and football ground, tennis court, no swimming pool. Also, it has a health centre for the free medical facilities. There will be no Wi-Fi, but LAN is given after 1st year. Also, labs are highly equipped. Really good library with a computer centre. Food in the canteen is not that good. Hostel rooms are also fine, but two new hostels are under construction.
Faculty: Teachers are really good in their respective fields. Our teachers are mainly PhD graduates from ISM-Dhanbad and highly trained professionals in their fields. Teaching quality is not that good. Old methods are used for teaching with very less practical approach. Teaching methods include the whiteboard teaching along with showing slides. Every year we have 1 to 2 days of the industrial visit. Also, the student to faculty ratio is approximately 11:1.
Other: Every year events like Axis (tech fest), Aarohi (cultural fest) are conducted. Also, institute gathering, a consortium (e-cell) and much more are held at VNIT.

If you think, just having NIT in the name will assure you of everything being good, you're wrong.
Placements: In the mining engineering they're good, but in the alternate years, computer science also had good placements. But in the chemical and the metallurgy, the placements are not good until this year. Generally, civil ke placements acche nahi hote. In other branches, if you study hard, you'll get good placements for sure. Architecture main placements toh hote hi nahi hai bhai.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is getting good day by day, but some departments are poorly built. New hostels are being made here, and they seem to be very good. One of the drawbacks of having an old college, and that too in the city, means that you can't expand the campus area. At the same time, the buildings weren't built with planning.
Faculty: Some senior and junior faculty members are really knowledgeable and good. They really want to teach their students. Some new faculty members are not good and more open courses should be provided to the students of the humanity department. And also, 1 course in the other department should be there, in each sem, which will form an elective.

An excellent infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The college has a decent placement record. Last year, the highest package recorded was Rs. 22 lakhs. From my branch which is mining engineering, around 100% placements were recorded. But again, the placements vary from branch to branch. The companies visiting are Amazon, Mahindra, Tata, L&T, Coal India and many more.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure. The college was established in 1960. So the infrastructure is a combination of the modern as well as the ancient art. Moreover, the Indian government has provided the funds of Rs. 218 crores just for the infrastructure. The work is progressing at a faster rate. The campus has a free Wi-Fi facility, excellent classrooms, advanced library, health centre and there are sports facilities for almost all the games.
Faculty: The college follows the modern curriculum. It has some decent faculty members also. They are always regular and in-time for their lectures. They are helpful for the weak students. They arrange extra classes for them. Some of them provide notes for the examination's preparation also. They use practical examples to explain the topics. For each faculty, the college only allotts 50 to 60 students only. The student to faculty ratio is 50:1 or 60:1.

No, NITs do not provide lateral entry admission .You can take admission in other good Colleges in Maharashtra, like Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute.
