GAT stands for General Ability Test. It is usually a written examination consisting of objective questions. The paper tests how well a student can think logically, understand language, solve problems, and stay updated with current events.

NIFT Stage 1 has NIFT GAT, NID has NID DAT, IIT Bombay has UCEED and CEED, Symbiosis Institute of Design has SEED. All these institutions conduct the Design Entrance Exam, which consists of General Ability Test.

  • Make a Study Plan: Pay attention to all the sections equally. Plan and divide your day. Try to find your wear areas and then pay attention to those areas. All sections are important in GAT, be bit english, numerical, general knowledge, etc.
  • Solve PYQs: Solving previous papers helps understand the exam pattern and important topics. These will help you to know the repeated questions, most asked questions, important topics, etc.
  • Read Daily: Make a habit of reading daily. Learn at least 20-30 words daily. Reading newspapers, design magazines, and online articles improves both GK and English.
