The Steel Authority of India Private Limited (SAIL) will start recruiting GATE-qualified candidates in July 2025. Candidates who have qualified for GATE can check the SAIL GATE recruitment notification for dates, vacancies, selection process, and more.

SAIL GATE 2025 Recruitment

SAIL Recruitment through GATE 2025 - The Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will release the notification for recruitment through GATE 2025. As per the previous notification, registrations is expected to start in July 2025. In 2024, the Steel Authority circulated a notification for filling 249 Management Trainee vacancies. They need Management Trainees (Technical) in E1 Grade in various disciplines. Candidates seeking a career in SAIL can fill up the registration forms before the due date, and they must have participated in the GATE Exam-2025 in any of the eight engineering disciplines - Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgical Engineering. 

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their GATE 2025 scores, and they will be selected through a group discussion and a personal interview.

SAIL Recruitment through GATE 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian national/citizen.

Qualifying Examination: Candidate must have completed full-time BTech degree y. Department candidates who are AMIE qualified are eligible.

Pass Percentage:

  • General and OBC (NCL) category - minimum 65% aggregate marks

  • SC/ ST and PwD category -  minimum 55% aggregate marks

Final year students: They are not eligible to take the examination.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for the General category candidates is 28 years.

Relaxation to different category candidates as follows:

  • SC & ST - 5 years

  • OBC-NC - 3 years

  • PWD (UR) - 10 years

  • PWD (OBC-NC) - 13 years

  • PWD (SC/ST) candidates - 15 years

  • Jammu & Kashmir candidates, during January 1, 1981 to December 31, 1990 can avail relaxation up to 5 years

  • Departmental candidates should not be more than 45 years

Medical standards:

  • Candidates must be of sound physique
  • Candidates must be free from any physical defect
  • Minimum requirements of Weight 45 kg
  • Minimum requirements of Height 155 cm
  • Myopia and Hypermetropia, if any, not to exceed ± 4.00 in each eye
  • No squint or colour blindness, partial or full

Note: In case of persons with a disability, only orthopedically disabled candidates with OA or OL disability with minimum 40% disability can apply.

NOC: Candidates from Government/ Semi-Government/ Central/ State Government Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings need to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer during the interview if they are shortlisted.

GATE Score: Scores from any other entrance exam will not be considered for recruitment.

SAIL Recruitment Application Form 2025

Registration for SAIL GATE recruitment will take place online. Candidates can only apply for one discipline, and GATE 2025 scores will be valid for the SAIL recruitment. Candidates must register, fill out their personal and academic details, and enter their GATE 2025 registration number.

They will also be required to upload a recent photo, signature, left thumb impression, and a scanned copy of the GATE 2025 admit card. In the next step, the applicant will receive a verification link on his/ her registered email ID.

Candidates need to click the link in the email to verify their candidacy. Now, candidates can further start the online payment process for the application. Click on the "Make Payment" link, select the category, and enter the correct unique SAIL registration number. Candidates can check their application status after 24 hours. After the confirmation, candidates can download their Provisional Registration Slip with the SAIL Unique Registration number. Candidates receiving the Provisional registration slip will be considered for the recruitment process.

SAIL Recruitment through GATE 2025: How to apply

  • Visit the official website of Steel Authority of India i.e. https://www.sail.co.in/.
  • Now click on the link “Recruitment of executives through GATE-2025
  • After that, select "view all vacancies" given under the "Jobs" section.
  • Now, press on a suitable link as per discipline and apply online for recruitment of SAIL 2025.
  • Click on the “Apply Now” button and start filling the online application form with all the correct personal and educational details.
  • Pay the application fee for SAIL Recruitment through online mode via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking.
  • In the end, click on the final "Submit" button and download the complete application form for future purposes.

SAIL Recruitment through GATE 2025 - Selection Process

Below are the important steps of selection procedure of SAIL. Have a look:

  • Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on GATE 2025 scores/ranks.
  • After this, there will be the next round of personal interviews.
  • For the PI round, candidates need to carry all the original documents (degrees and mark sheets).
  • If a candidate qualifies the personal interview round, he/she will have to meet the required medical parameters as laid down by SAIL.
  • The final selection will be done based on a merit list prepared on the basis of the below-given merits.
