The the toughest shift of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was January 23, shift 2. Also, some candidates found the JEE Main 22 Jan shift 2 exam the hardest one. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was held in 10 shifts. To overcome the difficulty level differences, NTA will normalise the score of the candidates.

JEE Main
The JEE Main, which stands for Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) is one of India’s most popular and competitive entrance exams, and not just in India, but it also ranks among the toughest entrance exams in India. The JEE Main is conducted nationwide by NTA (National Testing Agency). The objective of the entrance exam is to shortlist candidates for admission into undergraduate programs at institutions like NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes. JEE Main is held twice a year and it is the screening test for JEE Advanced. The question paper in the JEE Main will be based on class 10 to 12 level subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
JEE Advanced
The JEE Advanced is the next step after JEE Main. So, candidates who qualify in the JEE Main will have to appear in the JEE Advanced post which they will have to go through the counselling before getting shortlisted for a college. It is again a highly competitive national-level entrance examination and students who qualify in it will be able to take admission in IITs and other top institutes such as Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The top 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main are eligible to take this computer-based test. It consists of two objective papers that assess in-depth abilities in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

No. There is no minimum mark required to pass the MHT CET exam. The only requirement to get the scorecard is to appear in all subjects of MHT CET and obtain a non-zero score.

The AP EAMCET (or AP EAPCET) is a state-level entrance exam which is conducted by the JNTUK on behalf of APSCHE. The entrance exam is held once a year to shortlist candidates for admission into undergraduate courses in participating universities and colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Students will be able to take admission into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy streams.

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)
Similar to the AP EAMCET, the KCET is also a state-government exam. It is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The objective of the KCET is to shortlist Karnataka-domicile students for admission into undergraduate professional courses like engineering, architecture, and pharmacy in participating colleges.
MHTCET (Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test)
MHT CET is an annual computer-based entrance exam. The entrance test is held by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. It is organised for admission of qualified candidates into undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture courses in the state's institutions.
WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination)
WBJEE is a state-level entrance test conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. WBJEEE is held for admission of qualified students into undergraduate programs within West Bengal.
GUJCET exam
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) conducts the GUJCET exam every year. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission of students into engineering and pharmacy courses in colleges across Gujarat.
TS EAMCET
The TS EAMCET is a state-level entrance exam conducted by TSCHE.
