This year, IIT Guwahati is conducting exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 in two shifts. Candidates appearing can check complete details below on how to make the most in the last one month.

How to utilise the last month in GATE Revision 2026?

1. Focus on Revision (based on the high- scoring subjects and chapters)

During the GATE revision time, it is important to focus on techniques where you can maximise your GATE 2025 scores. Since the GATE syllabus is vast, focus on high-weightage topics and chapters. Allocate 60 to 70% of time in revising the chapters that are important as per GATE question paper perspective.

2. Make Short Notes for Quick Revision

Prepare GATE short notes for quick revision. While going through each topic, prepare them simultaneously. Keep it handy, covering all important formulas and terms. Go through them daily for an hour. Doing this will keep concepts fresh in your mind.

3. Take Frequent Mock Tests

GATE mock tests are very important, especially during the GATE preparation final month. This will help you analyse your strengths and weaknesses. Begin with chapter-based mock tests and gradually extend full-length GATE mock tests. Solving GATE mock tests will improve your accuracy and time management skills. In addition, it also trains you with to be prepared to experience the real-time GATE exam.

Every topper, mentor, and coaching institute mentor always advise everyone to solve GATE previous's year's question paper. Practising GATE old papers will help students to understand the GATE paper pattern, difficulty level and improve efficiency in solving questions within the time frame.

5. Avoid starting any new topic

One of the major mistake that students usually make is to start new topics and chapters in final month preparation. But, they don't understand it can backfire them badly. Instead, start revising the topics that you've studied earlier. Focus on quality over quantity. This will help you achieve good score in GATE
