IBPS PO Exam Date 2025 OUT: Check Prelims & Mains Complete Exam Schedule

IBPS PO exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as marking scheme, total marks, time duration, etc. IBPS PO exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims exam, Mainsexam and interview. IBPS PO prelims exam comprises three sections-Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. There are sectional timings in the exam. IBPS PO Mains exam comprises both objective and descriptive-type questions. The total marks allotted to the Mains exam are 225. The duration of the test is 3 hours 10 minutes. The total marks allotted to the interview are 100.

IBPS PO educational qualification is a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the government. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates must possess valid marksheet/degree Certificate that they are graduate on the day they register and indicates the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registration online. All educational mentioned by the examination authority should be from a university/institution/board recognised by government. Of India/approved by government/approved by government  on or before July 21, 2025.  Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before
July 21, 2025 has to be submitted at the time of interview. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation are not eligible to apply for the exam. At the time of interview, candidates are required to submit the educational qualification certificates.

IBPS PO prelims exam is conducted in four shifts -9 am to 10 am, 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, 2 pm to 3 pm, and 4 pm to 5 pm. IBPS PO Mains exam is conducted in two shifts- 9 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm. The shift timings of the prelims and Mains exams are mentioned on the admit card. Candidates need to appear for the exam as per their shift timings. Candidates reporting late to the exam centre will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. The selection of candidates for the interview is done based on the Mains exam. The total marks allotted for the interview are 100. The interview is conducted by the participating banks in co-ordination with IBPS. The marks obtained in the interview are considered for final selection. In interview, candidates are usually asked questions based on the banking awareness and personal details.

IBPS PO syllabus is different for prelims and Mains exams. The syllabus for the prelims exam includes topics from Quantitative Aptitude Reasoning and English . The syllabus for the Mains exam includes topics from Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness as well as the topics for Letter Writing and Essay for the descriptive paper. The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection released the IBPS PO 2025 Notification on the official website on June 30, 2025. The IBPS PO 2025 Prelims exam will be conducted on August 23 and 24, 2025. The IBPS PO 2025 Main exam will be conducted in October 2025.

The public sector banks offer a good salary to candidates selected through IBPS PO exam. The basic salary is INR 48,480. After including all the allowances, the gross salary is around INR 90,732.77. Candidates selected as PO are promoted to the post of Middle Manager-Middle Management Grade Scale 2, Senior Manager-Middle Management Grade Scale 3, Chief Manager-Senior Management Grade Scale 4, Assistant General, Manager-Senior Management Grade Scale 5, Deputy General Manager, Management Grade Scale 6, General Manager-Top Management Grade Scale 7, Executive Director, Chairman and Managing Director.

The IBPS PO 2025 prelims exam will be conducted on August 17, 23 and 24, 2025.

IBPS PO exam dates are announced along with the notification. The exam dates announced by the examination authority are considered as final and cannot be rescheduled. IBPS reserves the right to change the exam date of IBPS PO. The exam is conducted in three phases-prelims, Mains and interview. The prelims and Mains exams are conducted in multiple shifts. IBPS PO exam is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officers in different public sector banks in India. The exam is being conducted every year since 2011. IBPS PO exam is for selection of candidates for the 11 public sector banks. IBPS PO exam is conducted online at various locations throughout India. The selection process of IBPS PO comprises prelims exam, mains exams and interview. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. The final selection of candidates is done based on the performance in the mains exam and interview. The participating institutes verifies the eligibility of candidates after which they are provided appointment.

A reserve list to the extent of approximately 10 percent of the vacancies under each category may be kept, subject to the availability of candidates. This does not guarantee provisional allotment to/recruitment by the participating banks. In the event of Participating Banks providing further vacancies during April 2024-March 2025 at different intervals, provisional allotment may be carried out three to four times for the candidates in the reserve list, based on the vacancies provided by some or any of the participating banks at different intervals during the period. However, if no vacancy is furnished by the Participating Banks owing to exigencies or otherwise during the validity period, the candidates under the reserve list will not be considered for provisional allotment. The reserve list will expire automatically on March 31, 2025. Candidates who are not provisionally allotted or not in the reserve list will not be considered for further process.

IBPS PO full form stands for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officers.
